alibert Wrote:Hi,

I didn't recognize this one as my epg source has only exactly one or no genre assigned to programmes. I will have a look at it soon.

If you're able to have a look into your gbpvr.db3/.mdb, you can check if there are genres defined for those programmes. Also you can select such a programme (that should have a background colour) and have a look at the details popup. The genre is displayed in parentheses right after the subtitle line.
I don't see a reason why it would show you only the colours for the next two days.

Now I'm confused, because I don't know what guide uses what EPG source. I use I-xmltv, which creates tvguide.xml and, I think, imports that into gbpvr. This xml file has all the genres for each program (sometimes 3-4 genres), for all days. In my gbpvr.db3 file, programme_genre only shows one genre_oid for each programme_oid. Do 'TV Guide' and 'TV Listings' use different sources?

When I look at 'TV Guide' it shows color for any program that has any customized genre color for all days in the guide. When I look at 'TV Listings' it only shows color for programs where the first genre listed has a customized color, and now only for one day (the detail popup does list all genres).

Is this a conflict between the guide that I-xmltv creates and what 'TV Listings' reads?
What, me worry?

It would probably be easiest if I posted an unaltered 7-day xmltv file & the I-xmltv enhanced version “TVGuide.xml”. This way alibert can look at them and load them into gbpvr on his end.
I-xmltv simply adds information to the visible fields, title, subtitle and description.
Let me know when you have the attachments alibert so I can delete the files to save some server space.
Thanks

Both guides use the same EPG, as both guides read from the same database. The programme_genre table maps programme_oid's to genre_oid's, where multiple genres of a programme result in multiple rows of that table. You can try and sort this table by programme_oid if you want to check if multiple genres are assigned.

I've already implemented your request. In the future, every genre will be checked when looking for the correct background colour. It will be included in the next version that'll hopefully be released soon. I'm still waiting of an answer from amazon regarding legal issues using their web interface.
I have no idea why it would only show the background-colours for one day and not in the complete guide. It works fine in my setup for the whole guide. Can someone else confirm this?

No, it has nothing to do with your epg-source, as I only read out data from the database.

Thanks for your efforts Jim, you can remove the attachements again if you want.

Hi Alibert,

I'm interested in your utility you mention on the Wiki for converting the TV Click Finder info into an xmltv file. I've been having trouble getting the extended details for most of the German channels from the satellite EPG (though I know it's on there), and was wondering if your utility will grab the full programme descriptions.

Also, does it only take the information from the 8 channels that are on the click finder, or is there any way of getting the programme details for any other channels on the TV Movie site, especially arte and 3sat, or do you know of any other good method? (none of the XMLTV grabbers I have tried seem to do the trick, or take too long).

Thank you for your help,

Frazer

the utitlity converts most of the data that is provided along with the clickfinder application (see http://www.tvmovie.de/ClickFinder_Free.183.0.html). This data is put into the description tag of the generated xmltv file, which gbpvr can use again to update the epg. If you want to try it out, send me a private meassage with your email-address.

It will only use those channels that are available in the clickfinder application. If you want to have more than the eight free channels, you'll need to buy the premium account. I also ended up in buying it, after trying everything else that is available to get a nice xmltv listing.

Installed along with 98.8 upgrade. Colors are showing correctly now (and for multiple genres) in new EPG days downloaded today, but still no colors in next few days (that were already there). TV Guide does show colors in all days. Hopefully colors stay, I'll post if not.

Thanks
Roy

I think I will need to have a look into your gbpvr.db3/mdb database then. How large is your file? Do you have the possibility to upload it somewhere? Maybe on rapidshare or something else?
