For the chip munk audio, I'd look at using an audio decoder other than 'MPEG Audio Decoder'. Some decoders, including this one, do not cope well with dynamically detecting and changing to the bitrate used on the DVB channel. This type of decoder is better suited to playing files where the audio characteristics dont change from beginning to end.

I cant really see the other problem in the logs. It may have occured at the the same location in the logs where it had indicated it had failed to lock onto a signal, but thats just a guess. There is nothing really obvious in the logs.

sub, i've tried a few audio decoders, including cyberlink(i got a cyberlink with twinhan in brackets and one without), i tried both, as well as ac3.

I too think it's a audio codec issue but i can't really work out what i should use. I scanned in a few more channels today on the same satellite, and they too have the chipmunk sound.

The pausing problem is less important to me at this stage, as it's easy to work around, although a tad annoyin. If it's because it failed to lock on to a signal, why can i hit back and go back in? It then works perfectly (so it doesn't seem to be a weak signal at all)

a pause occured here (Jeevan TV was the culprit channel. I switched from Asianet News, to Jeevan TV, and it paused... i tehn switched back and forth between jeevan and asianet news but no luck. So then I quit and re entered.)

7/11/2006 10:15:11 AM.156 VERBOSE [1] Switching to channel: 162 (Asianet News)

This line seems prominent in the times when the channel pauses:
7/11/2006 10:15:29 AM.515 VERBOSE [1] RenewLease: 24

Although im not sure if that's a result of me exiting livetv, and going back in. I don't think it is, but i'm not too sure.

Yes

No, but I do recommend people backup their config.xml and gbpvr.mbd (or gbpvr.db3 if they're using SQLite).

Windows XP
Service pack 2
Divx player
PowerDVD
GBPVR obviously

WOOHOOO! Sub, i did some further reading in the forum, and installed WinDVD, which gave me the intervideo codec. Now the audio is fiiiine Smile

The channel pause when changing remains, and I think it has got worse Sad

I've narrowed it down further, it happens when switching between different channel groups.

ie. I can switch through the 8 odd channels in the "ETV" channel group, without any troubles. When i switch to another group, it pauses. I then have to press back and go back into it, and i can happily switch between that group as well. They are on the same satellite, but different 'transponders' i think they're called?

Any ideas? I'm aaaalmost there

Thanks heaps
