Sorry, can you do that again, but post a matching set of GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log and recording-x.log? (preferrable Nasa TV again)

You too dennit. (any channel will be fine)

Can you try this patch? Make sure you have <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord>true</BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord> in config.xml.

FYI, I've always had that turned on during these tests.
I tried NASA first. I got a zero byte file, then a few seconds later it started a good recording labeled -1. I'm not sure if that's what soccerdad was getting. I looked at the file, and it was a single unchanging photo - I guess NASA wasn't sending video then. I'm not sure if that would make a difference.

Having that success, however, I tried a DVB-S multidec channel and got the same 0-byte files as before this change - a first one, then a few seconds later a second one. I've got the txt file and recording logs attached.

Let me know if you want logs for NASA.

As an aside, I have multidec and multirec turned on, and I have the config.xml tweak
<BDAAllowMultiRecordOnEncrypted>true</BDAAllowMultiRecordOnEncrypted>
still in there.

Another possibly useful bit of info. When I want to copy logs, edit config.xml, etc. I usually use the tray icon to stop the recording service. It's taking two tries before the icon changes from green to black/white. However, I can hear the relay in the DVB-S card drop out (stop sending voltage to the dish) the first time.

I applied the patch and it looks like it is working great with multirecord on. I get recordings very quickly and so far no zero bytes even switching sats. I also do not get the zero byte then recording like I got without multi record on.

I will keep testing but it looks like it has solved the problem.

Thanks.

Seeing this, I went back and tested again. I had multirecord turned off for all the earlier tests. As soon as I turned multirecord on, it worked! No zero byte file for a multidec single DVB-S recording. I'm going to test some more, and there's still an issue with zero byte files if multirecord is off, but it's looking good - Thanks sub!
