I am not see ceton trying to open the port back to NextPVR perhaps the log is buffered. Are you still using the replacement jar file.

Okay, here is something interesting. I placed your 0.5.29jar in the openDCT/lib directory deleted the 0.5.24 jar, restarted OpenDCT and both the 0.5.24 and 0.5.29 jars are there. Should I replace it somewhere else?

Is it possible that you aren't using the current version of opendct? You seem to be behind GitHub.

It is possible. I have been running this with sage for a few years. If I download the latest will it mess up sage? I don't want to mess that up until I have the NPVR replacement working.

Okay downloaded and installed the latest OpenDCT, stopping and restarting as required. Restarted everything. Still no go.

Could you try again but give opendct more time to discover that Ceton devices before you attempt a connection from NextPVR.

Okay, booted from scratch. Made sure OpenDCT did it's thing. Still no luck.

I will have to check this out when I get back from vacation and maybe add some logging to the python code. The only thing I can think of now is a firewall or av program I stopping you from opening the server on port 7823 or you haven't replaced the jar file.

First stage prerequisites:

1. A Schedule direct or xmltv EPG source for the channel number
2. Install OpenDCT https://github.com/enternoescape/opendct The notes are a bit cryptic but I will help you there
3. Install python.  Make sure it is version 3 and is python.exe is installed for all users and can run via the path.

Next install the NextPVR Support

1.  Download the attached file opendct-win.zip and unzip in C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts
2. Test  that you can connect to OpenDCT.  Running this should give you the IP and port (default is 9000).

cd \C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts
python opendct.py DISCOVERY

3.  Edit opendct.py to use  the IP and port from the previous step
4. Install the Extras.

python opendct.py INSTALLW Ceton

5.  If you are not running NextPVR from C:\Program Files\NPVR edit opendct.bat to change the pathfor  ffmpeg.exe
6.  Stop the OpenDCT service and unzip the attached file opendct-jar.zip to replace C:\Program Files\OpenDCT Authors\OpenDCT\lib\opendct-0.5.29.jar

At this point everything should be ready to configure your devices in NextPVR 

1.  Go to Settings-Devices and you should have the new "Extras" devices.  On the first device configure all the channels you want on one device using Schedule Direct or XMLTV as a source.
2.  Test that you can play a channel
3. Setup the other devices Copy the EPG data when prompted.

I appreciate the work you have done, but I am frustrated to no end because I cannot get anything to work.  I finally bailed on WMC, upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, so I have an investment in my Ceton tuners and would love to use them since Silicon Dust cannot seem to get their 6 tuner network tuner out the door.

I know my tuners work because I can get VLC to stream from them.  So it is NOT the tuners.

I got OpenDCT is installed.  It is supposedly configured properly, but the Python scripts did not report anything back when I ran them, so I assume they worked.  But, I see no "Extras" button in my Devices.  Not only that, but I see three blank bars in the Devices list.

I went into the opendct.properties file and it appears to point to my tuners, but the port was 9000 and my tuners are on 5004 according to my Ceton documentation and what works with VLC.  So I fixed that setting on all of the tuners.  However, that has not corrected the issue with NextPVR and it's Settings -> Devices page.  It is still a set of three blank bars.

I'm at wits end with this mess.  All I want to do is watch TV and nothing works.  I just need some guidance to get this project done.
