back to the audio-cd-problem: there was a problem, that when pressing the red button or the func-button on the remote when the audio-cd-folder is selected nothing happens. the tracks can not be added to the playlist, you have to play them one by one.

maybe i made something wrong in the configuration when adding the cd-drive as virtual root? i'll look into it.

ok, i tried adding the cd-drive as hdd and as dvd, same problem: pressing red button on the folder or func button on the folder doesn't play anything. pressing func-button on a track in the folder plays just this track.

do you need any logfiles?

The one thing I would love you to add to "My Music" is the jukebox option to randomly play a track if the playlist is empty.

then it would be the perfect music plugin

I would imagine the majority of the code might be able to be lifted from the existing jukebox plugin which nobody seems to maintain anymore

you would have to to turn it off/on. which then basically you can do this now, just created a playlist with every single song in it (pushing red on a item in the virtual root) then click shuffle. save. everytime you want to do the jukebox thing load it, shuffle and play, not a one click solution, but same functionality.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (reven @ Feb. 26 2005,19:03)]agerdin it just looks for these files Folder.jpg/png default.jpg/png ("folder" not the folder name, the actual word folder).  the mp3 tag reader i use doesnt have the ability to read images from the mp3 files themselves, i wasnt even aware you could do this.
Hi Reven,

It seems like I am the only one intrested in embedded album art [Image: smile.gif] If there is time to look at my problem you might want to have another look at your mp3 tag reader since I am convinced it does read some of the embedded album art directly from the mp3 file. I do not have a single jpg or png in my muisc folders and your plugin still shows some of my embedded album art.

My request is if there is someway to tweak the tag reader to show all types of embedded pictures. If you decide to look at this I can try to find out in which cases the art is read and where it is not.

Thanks again,

\\Agerdin

I've produced my own MP3 tag reader software but when I scan MP3 files with embedded pictures the tag length doesn't match. Each tag in the file has a header (generic info about the tag like its type and length). Normally, if you jump length bytes in the file you should get to the next tag. The picture tags I've come across dont follow this but should. I have all sorts of problems with this and there is very little info on the net other than "yes it's a problem".

If I get it working i'll consider passing it on to reven. Any help on MP3 picture tags welcome though.

(I wrote my own tag editor utility that also does basic tag creation as well).

I have experienced the same as you Agerdin. I didn't think I had any .jpg and .png files in the folders where I store mp3-files, but still I could see album art on the folders in the My Music plugin.

I had previously used Windows Media Player to download album art, and this is actually stored as .jpg images in your folders. Go to 'Tools\Folder Options\View' and uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)' in Explorer. If you do this you could see that you might have a folder.jpg file in your folder (at least i did).

Hi,

You are so right Jan, as you said I found the jpgs as protected files. Sorry, Reven for not thinking you had control over your tag reader. I will now start downloading my art in jpegs and store them in the folders.
