I'm having issues getting the spare hdpvr2 working with the spare PC (probably something is wrong with the onboard USB since other devices are being flaky too). I'll try reinstalling Windows on it when I get a chance.

Had a hard hang earlier, at a comskip jump point. Locked up NPVR completely. Had to force the program to close and then start it again. Time was at 12:36. Logs attached.

using the latest reader update has been working better for me lately..no lockups but i'm carefull about skips..
the last reader update also has much shorter periods of out of sync when skipping, only takes about a sec or two to sync again, instead of 10+ like it used to w original reader4..Smile

also, this seems to be only affecting USA users...ntsc silly framerate issues..

@pBs - my experience with the 7/31 TS reader version is consistent with yours. The first skip is solid, but subsequent skips almost always have some issues; I don't use Comskip so have multiple skips to avoid commercials. I get an occasional freeze of the video, but another skip in the same direction gets it going again. For some reason the USA channel seems to be more troublesome. I have also had one instance of an incorrect timeline; the player would play through the end of the timeline, but could not skip through it.

I think I'll go back to legacy, it's good enough for me. I'm sure sub will get this sorted.

i'm noticing some probs w newest reader4, livetv fails to start first time trying, black screen, no audio..
usually changing channels or restarting livetv works to get it going, sometimes 2 or 3 tries..
after that it seems to play nicely until closed..
this is on a Prime device..

but still no watching anything in-progress w reader4..Sad

Can you create a c:\temp directory, and set the following registry settings:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NPVR\ LogDemux=1 (DWORD)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NPVR\ LogDemuxFileOps=1 (DWORD)

Start a recording, wait a bit, then try to start playback, then zip and attach your normal logs, and the two files created a c:\temp?

Actually I'd be interested in seeing the same for a session where live tv files to start first try. Ideally do this from a fresh run of NextPVR, and don't attempt to change channels. (so that the log doesn't contain a successful attempt)

shoot, i had actually reverted to 3.9.2 so i could have client work..and in-progress was being missed badly..[sports]
i'll make a quick change and get some logs to you later today..

and man, is it hard to change versions! https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...to=newpost
tons of things go wrong when trying to downgrade..it deleted whole npvr folder, despite having other files in there..[thankfully backed up]
and prog version in config and whole config-master-dont-edit me.xml is not replaced for some reason..
even after uninstalling! [config-master should be deleted on uninstall right?]

I have noticed the same thing with my Prime system with the new reader. Although, I have pretty much given up using npvr for my clients for this and other reasons - skipping issue & persistent channel change issues. Also, the new reader is causing severe A/V choppiness to the point where it is basically unwatchable using npvr clients.
My server is running W7, clients W10. I setup a test server using W10 and the choppiness disappears though.

With all of the above issues, I am using Kodi as a client and no issues whatsoever with it.

here's a logset from when i tried livetv and got blank screen...
of course after turning on the reg entries it didn't want to fail for a while..lol

p.s. the crash.mdmp is from earlier...but thought it might be of some use..
[i think it was crash of old reader]

i have been getting some rec service endings...just dies for no apparent reason..
