I've been using gbpvr for about a week now and I love it! It is an excellent piece of software.

I am, however, having an 'issue' while watching live tv. I have two PVR150s in my box. One has DirecTV on the composite in and cable tv in on the tuner. The other PVR150 only has cable in on the tuner. I've noticed that if I am watching live tv on the cable only card and try to switch to the other card to watch DirecTV channels (via typing in the channel number), things get really screwy. The OSD pops up like it normally would, but it doesn't show any channel information and doesn't change the channel. It does show the time and the time does update so the program is not in the 'Not Responding' state. It appears that gbpvr is still receiving commands as the screen flickers when I issue commands like exit and channel up/down.

It would appear to me that it is trying to switch to the tuner but can't and doesn't know what to do. The only way to clear it is to kill gbpvr from the task manager.

I'm attaching my logs if someone could be so kind as to take a look. Many thanks!

Wow. I just reread what I wrote and can see why I didn't get any responses. Let me try again.

Tuner 1:
PVR150 Retail
Composite In DirecTV signal
Tuner In Local cable signal

Tuner 2:
PVR150 MCE
Tuner In Local cable signal

The problem:

Tuner 1 is recording the DirecTV signal. I am watching Live TV (actually timeshifted) of the Local cable signal on Tuner 2. Unknowingly, I try to switch to a channel that is only on DirecTV. Of course Tuner 1 is recording so I would expect gbpvr to tell me that the card is in use or something of that sort and not let me attempt to switch to Tuner 2. Unfortunately this is not what happens.

As described above the OSD pops up like it normally would, but it doesn't show any channel information and doesn't change the channel. It does show the time and the time does update so the program is not in the 'Not Responding' state. It appears that gbpvr is still receiving commands as the screen flickers when I issue commands like exit and channel up/down.

Let me know if I can clarify this any better. Having a newborn in the house has turned my brain into mush due to lack of sleep Wink

By the lack of replies I'm guessing that this is either a known issue or how the program is supposed to function? I'm not trying to be impatient, but the WAF will be a bit lower if I have to teach her how to restart the frontend if the program should get in this state again (and the 'issue' is repeatable).

I didnt respond because I couldnt think of the cause or a solution, and I'm a bit too busy with other stuff to look at it now.

This problem continues to plague me. Can you possibly tell me what logs to check? I don't mind trying to troubleshoot this myself, I just need a push in the right direction.
