I think this might be a stupid question but I searched the forum and could not find anything ....

Well, here we are:

Is it possible to use special keys (e.g. the green power button) of the hauppauge remote OUTSIDE GB-PVR ?

I mean ... I would like to use the Power-Button to leave GB-PVR AND to restart it with the same button ... possible ?

Yes. All the remote's functions are defined in c:\windows\irremote.ini. It's quite easy to extend.

I found the irremote.ini and had a closer look to it.

But ... ahm ... didn't understand where to change andwhat to change.

Is there a manual for that or do you have a link with a description of this file and what to change ?

Hi,

on the snapstream forum someone posted a quite good "manual" how to edit the irremote. You find it here: http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?t=14377

For what you want to do: start GBPVR from the default section with the run command for the grnpower and stop it with alt F4 in the GBPVR section. Pls read the manual for the exact commands.

I did exactly that - top green button will kill GBPVR and restart it (very handy, it does get stuck sometimes).

Under the "[default]" section:
GRNPOWER={close(radio.exe)}{close(GBPVR.exe)}{sleep(500)}{run(C:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVR.exe)}


Make sure there are no other "GRNPOWER" lines there (or just comment them out with a ";" at begining of line).
