Hi,

I'm completely new here and considering building my first PC-PVR. I was going to try to find a cheap pc, buy a PVR-150, get GBPVR, and an IR Blaster type thing. I have a unusual home setup though and I don't know if this is all going to work.

I order for this setup to work I will need to run two inputs into the PVR-150 card 1) TV coax 2) SVGA or RCA video/audio. If I want to record OTA TV then the GBPVR must tune the card to the correct channel. If I want to record Dish programming, GBPVR must tune the card to LINE1(2) and then call IR Blaster or something to tune the Dish301 box.

Is this all possible? My TV watching is 50-50% OTA and Dish. In fact, the the kids dominate the Dish box for cartoons until 9-10PM every day, so I can only really program Dish recording during the middle of the night and school hours. Also from reading here, there is a database that is downloaded and used. I suppose two databases must now be used. Will GBPVR use two databases and know which one to use?

I hope I can do this...

Yes, GB-PVR copes with this setup.
