So after setting everything up so i can atleast perform BASIC pvr functions.. i decided to tackle configuring my remote control. The remote control that I am using is the one that was supplied by Hauppauge PVR-150. My digital cable box is listed among being compaitble with the remote. Ofcourse.. when i tried to set it up...my remote wont change the channel on my digital cable box. I have an Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100. During configuration, i can see the little light on the IR blaster light up but my digital cable wont recognize it. I even took a digital cable box from another room and still no luck. I downloaded the newest drivers from Hauppague and even tried the beta drivers with no luck. but the funny thing let say the IR blaser is malfunctioning, shouldn't i still be able to use the hauppauge remote control to atleast navigate thru gbpvr? i wont be able to change the chan on my digtal cable box... but if my remote was functioning... shouldnt i atleast navigate thru the menus of gbpvr? any advice would be appreciated...

In the balster config, did you try the send buttons? How did it work?
Did you peel the white sticker-cover and stick the blaster right onto the 2100's receiver "eye"?

Does the remote work in WinTV that comes with the card? If you try "notepad.exe debug.txt" you should be able to see all the remote keys appear in the notepad window.
The IR reveiver connector on the back of the card is close to the side so make sure the wedget on the connector is rotated to the side to allow pushing it in all the way in.

actually.. i pushed the connector a little harder and the remote seems to work sending signals to my computer. But i think my problem got worse.. now the IR blaster will not light up anymore. i'm gonna try to return this unit for a second time and see if i have any success with my third unit. If not.. my pvr project is over...

i took a digital camera and looked at the IR blaster thru its lense and confirmed that the IR blaster is not sending any more signals to my digital cable box. =( time to return this unit then....
