Hi,

I'm having problems with ffwd, rwd and short skip. Basically i usually have it set to ffwd and rwd and it works fines some of the time. However sometimes when i click rwd it goes forwards. Then i stop the playback and restart and its ok for a bit and then it changes again??
I've tried selecting short skip instead but i seem to get similar behaviour, it still goes in the wrong direction quite frequently. Usually both buttons end up going forwards.

Any ideas? It would seem to make more sense if it was consistent but its not. It changes virtually everytime i use it.

This isn't a new problem since the new release, i had similar problem in the previous one. All in all though, great work sub! keep it up.

Do you have a PVR150? If so, its possible you're seeing the timestamp problem.

I think I may have seen this problem before but as I rarely RWD I cannot say for sure.

However, out of interest, do you ever find that your remote sometimes sends an UP when you press OK?

I ask as I also have the nova-t usb2 and have this problem plus when I press VOL UP, it occasionally sends a RWD instead.

I contacted hauppague about this and they sent me a replacement remote but I have the same problems so either there is a problem with certain remotes (a bad batch perhaps) or there may be a bug in ir.exe.

I also have a nova-t usb 2 and have often had similar problems.

I experience most ffwd rewind issues like this when viewing through the MVP, haven’t really tested much running directly from main pc.

The "ok" sending an "up" I've defiantly seen when using the main pc, I've always put this down to the physical mechanics of the pad though. I’ve not taken one to bits but I can imagine pressing ok might make the up button contact by mistake.

I don’t think this is the same as the stream rewinding when you’ve pressed ffwd for 2 reasons.
Firstly rewind and fast forward aren’t next to each other so are unlikely to contact inadvertently and secondly because I’ve also had very random strange behaviour with rewind / ffwd and skip. It just sometimes appears to randomly jump all over the place as well as ffwding when pressing rewind. Sometimes for example I might try and ffwd through an add break and end up jumping 30 mins forward or backwards through the program. I’ve also had playback issues where when playing back it would skip large chunks of recording but I could rewind carefully to the point just after the "skip" and then watch the bit that was skipped.

This sounds more like a timestamp issues, I'm not sure if this is possible with a digital stream so it maybe its a mux problem with the MVP or a decoder problem on the PC?

It is likely to be the mux filter causing this problem.

Yeah Im still using the cyberlink bga mux.
file is THMpgMux.ax, version 5.0.1307

I got hold of this some time ago too, when I first got it I had tried several of the others and this was by far the best.

Some time ago gbpvr started supporting the windows dvr-ms mux which I switched to for a while and it worked ok.
I had to go back to the cyberlink one when I put the MVP back in the bedroom.

If you dont need an MVP I would definatly give the dvr-ms one a go, at least with that one u dont have to trawling the net to find a recent version Smile
