I liked the ATSC well enough that when another deal came up at Fry's I bought another. I can't seem to get both of them working with GBPVR. When I disable to driver for one, the other works fine. When I re-enable the second card, neither work in GBPVR. I just installed the newest 97.9 version.

I suppose I should post some logs, and will do so when I run the routine again.

Anybody else manage to get two of these working together?

Yes, I did have device 1 and 2. But never got a picture on either one. I deleted one capture source from GBPVR, but still no joy until I disabled one of the cards in the device manager. Then the original worked as expected. Re-enabled, and back to black screen on live preview. No files were generated when I tried to record.

I remember you saying that up to 8 devices of a kind were supported, unless the drivers didn't support it. I have the very latest drivers I can find. I could try older drivers I suppose, but they reportedly had a problem with coming out of power saving mode. I don't use power saving mode on my GBPVR box, so maybe that might be OK.

From you description it sounds like the drivers doing something flakey. They may not support more than one device correctly.

I doubt there will be any GB-PVR setting that can be tweaked to help this, but if you reproudce the problem then zip and attach the logs, I'll at least check there is nothing else unexpected going wrong.

Thanks! I really do appreciate the support. I don't want to be too much of a bother until I exhaust solving it on my end. I was hoping that someone else has gotten two of these working.

Oh, on another note. I can't use the 'map digital channels..' feature either. Gives me an error message box, and I if try to ignore it, the config program closes. I already had the channels configured manually, so was not a big loss. Might prove more interesting as I rebuild with a new motherboard tonight and tomorrow morning.

Check to make sure the cards aren't sharing an IRQ. I've heard of this generally causing problems for people with dual ATSC card setups.

As for the scanner, yea it's not quite ready for primetime yet so stick with the manual configuration mode for now.

Yes, I checked. One was on 5 and the other was on 13. Whole new box (new motherboard) this morning, so I will check that again.

OK, things are getting more interesting. I now have the pvr-250 and two ATSC 110 cards all installed. The PVR-250 and one of the ATSC 110 cards share an IRQ. I can't seem to change that from within Windows, and there seems to be several IRQ numbers that have no devices associated with them. The prv-250 has been knocked off the system a few times, requiring me to delete the device and reboot to re-install. Maybe the IRQ sharing.

I can get live TV on the PVR-250 and the digital side of my second ATSC 110 card, even while 'recording' on the first ATSC 110. The live TV is horrible though, and the whole computer freezes up or stutters. Further, any recording on the ATSC 110 fails to produce a file until I force the recording to stop, then I get a 0 byte file of the appropriate name. The Windows Event Viewer shows a Dr. Watson error message during the recording, and DW20.exe sucks up 100% of the processor during one of these recordings. Same error message that I have seen others post.

I had recordings working on my old system using the Intervideo MUX, which I reinstalled. I can try the cyberlink MUX.

Edit: pvr-250 seems to record without issues.

There is something screwy about the directshow setup on your machine.

I spotted the following in the recording service log:
Quote:19:50:24.515 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Sections and Tables
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - GB-PVR Writer
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - GB-PVR PSI Parser
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - 713x BDA ATSC Tuner
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - InterVideo Audio Decoder
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (ATI)

19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - Microsoft ATSC Network Provider
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - InterVideo Multiplexer
19:50:24.515 VERBOSE - 713x BDA Digital Capture
There is no reason for audio and video decoders to be in this recording graph.

Also, the intervideo mux is the worst of all the muxes, and tends to lead to crappy recordings. Switch to DVR-MS or Cyberlink.

My original plan was to use dvr-ms. I was not able to select or generate that type of file, as it created a .mpg file of 0 byte length. I could get dvr-ms files under 96.12 if neither Intervideo or cyberlink muxes were installed. I'll give the cyberlink mux a shot again, though that did not do well under 96.12. The 'CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (ATI)' was installed with my video card drivers. I think I can remove it.

Thanks!
David
