Ok at the current time my system setup is like this:
XP 2600 mobile Barton clocked to xp 3400 speeds Big Grin
Asus radeon A 9800 (their 9800 xt)
Haupauge 150 mce(no radio)
winfast 2000/xp (software plug-in)
AverMedia MCE A180
512 MB of memory right now (one stick got RMA'ed)

Live tv on the HD cards seems a little stuttery on shows, however prerecorded digital shows play just fine, I've tried cyberlink as well as intervideo codecs and well I'm not having much luck here. I dun really know, but is the A9800 not hacking it or are the codecs just not optimized for my videocard (the cpu util goes way up on live tv) recorded shows seem fine

Could you post your logs, also do you have live preview mode enabled ?

If live preview mode is disabled then thr digital card is writing and reading from the harddrive simultaneously in timeshift mode. There could be some issues if your using a harddrive controller that shares the pci bus. A fragmented drive could also be causing problems.

ehh right now recording I will post logs later but it doesn't start timeshift unless I pause it, where would I look up that setting for live preview mode, another observation it does stutter a little bit when the file is played back at times although less so if I play the files back with WMP

live preview mode is checked I think it had to do with the mpeg codecs I'm using, really need to know how to get the power dvd 7 codecs to show up since I know there supposed to support dxva. that way I might have a chance
