Conflicts shown but they don't conflict

I just installed my 2nd PVR-150 tuner card and re-programmed all my reoccuring shows. I have no conflicts showing in GBPVR unless one long program is being recorded at the same time as multiple shorter programs.

For example, I have 4 recordings pending for "NASCAR Beyond The Wheel". They are all 1/2 hour shows starting at 3pm, 3:30pm, 4pm and 4:30pm. At the same time I have "World Cup Soccer" scheduled for recording from 3pm - 5pm. As far as I see it, with 2 cards, this shouldn't be an issue? Couldn't 1 card record all the NASCAR shows while the other card records soccer? I also have a few other occurances of this sort of thing happening with other shows.

Is there anything I can do other than cancelling shows to get around this?

This can happen depending on the order you schedule things. If you schedule the world cup 3pm - 5pm show first, then the others, it would work as you expect. I do intend to improve the logic to cope with this some time in a future release.

Thanks Sub. So as a general rule of thumb, should longer shows be scheduled first, or does it also depend on the program start times?

A recording is allocated to a tuner at the time it is scheduled, but in multi-tuner setups it'll try to alternate between tuners so that each tuner can record the pre and post padding. If you later schedule a recording that requires a tuner that is already in use, it wont try to move the existing recording.

Does that mean that it would then use, in his case, the second tuner to record the multiple 30 min shows? If so, will it ignore the padding on all episodes being recorded besides the first episode's pre-padding and the last episode's post-padding?

Correct (assuming he reschedules as per my advice above).

Excellent.

Not to hijack this thread, but, would it be possible to add logic that would detect a conflict and would attempt to reschedule one of the programs to record at a later time if that same episode is being aired again at another time?

As I said above, I do intend to address this problem. I probably wont look for additional airings of the same show (since show unique show identifiers are not available for non US GB-PVR users), but I will attempt to shuffle the allocated tuners around if possible.

Ah okay. I thought that non US user still had access to unique show descriptions (albeit perhaps not for every program) that could be used to identify different episodes from one another.

By the way, I was in no means attempting to criticize.
