GBPVR incorectly reports total time of a recording.

For the last few weeks I have been recording Family Guy from 10:00PM to 10:30PM and Futurama from 10:30PM to 11:00PM. (Both on the same channel.)

Everything worked fine up until monday of this week. Now, GBPVR reports the total time of every Futurama recording to be around 20 minutes. (While the entire 30 minutes is actually there.) Windows Media Player also inacurately reports it as 20 minutes. However, Videoredo properly shows that the mpeg file is 30 minutes long.

Additional Details: This only happens with Futurama, Family Guy records fine. I have the computer set to go into sleep mode after 1 minute of inactivity. I do have comskip set to run in parallel to the recordings.

Do you mind if I ask why? That seems to be a pretty short time span. I woudln't think that would cause the issue your having but it does seem a little short to me.

I'm trying to save power.

GBPVR automatically wakes up the computer to record and then goes back to sleep. This hasn't affected recordings in the past so I don't know why it would now. But, just to make sure these aren't the problems, I'm going to disable comskip and disable the sleep timer.

Sounds like the Hauppauge driver timestamp bug. There's a fix. Do a search on this forum and see :-)

Thanks, I will implement the beta drivers. Then I'll do a "torture test" of my pvr-150 overnight.

Make sure you apply the registry settings and reboot also, otherwise you'll continue to get the timestamp errors.

I installed the drivers, rebooted, made the registry change and rebooted. I will report back tomorrow after tonight's torture test. (I scheduled recordings back to back, on different channels and with various lengths.)

Update: All the shows that I recorded last night had proper timestamps. It seems that the problem is elminated. However, with the new drivers, I have sound distortion on "Aqua Teen Hunger Force". I'll just have to see how many shows end up with sound distortion and take a pick between drivers.

Hauppauge really needs to fix their act.....

Did you install the 108 drivers?

No, I installed the drivers from from the link above. That sound distortion issue seems to have gone away by itself. Everything is working great now!
