this one looks beautifull, finally... after figuring out it's weirdness...
problem i'm having is, it only looks good if in a window!?! deinterlacing seems to lose acceleration when hitting alt-enter to go full screen or even when starting that way....[in overlay mode] a plus is it's the only one i've seen that will work on overlay on a second, non-primary monitor... GPL version acts same way...no others tho.. with vmr, looks nice but lack of real acceleration taxs the system alot.. tho same thing applied.. seemed like loss of acceleration when going fullscreeen..[stutters like crazy!] but perfect when windowed.... i could run a software encoder card in timeshift mode with this one [no easy feat] so it's pretty decent on speed..and smooth deinterlacing only with bob... was wondering if there were any reason for this or any settings that affect overlay mode? like a windowed overlay or similar? it's so close...i even am using the splitter too.. [having a hard time locking-up gbpvr while mad-seeking on network files only] only seems to happen with ms demux...[Nero and MPC and MainConcept demux's ok] may just be a network speed issue on my end..

definitely add the MPA decoder...it adds several nice features like SPDIF and multi-channel...
[tho not sure how to set config and if it will stay] probably in graphedit.. works well for me so far..name is "MPA Decoder Filter"

could you detail how to add mpeg2 decoders to gbpvr. i would like to try this one because cyberlink looks like crap for me, mainconcept looks good but wont decode in timeshifting mode, and intervideo only looks so-so. thanks...

look in config.xml for the <SupportedDecoders> and add to that comma seperated list..the name of the new encoder is exactly as it appears in graphedit or any other prog you can see directshow filters in..
this one's name is mentioned earlier..i believe it's "MPV Decoder Filter" so just add a comma at the end of your list then that name.. save and when ya go into the config app you'll see it in the decoders list to choose.. same for audio decoders..

I tried that but GBPVR only crashes after doing that. i have restore the config.xlm file for GBPVR to work again.

Try using notepad to edit it.

Does anyone have any experience using this codec to play back dvr-ms files?
I want to try it, as .mpg (mpeg2) files look beautiful in Media PlayerClassic, however MPC hangs on .dvr-ms files. I don't know if this is a function of the codec or MCC. I will try to install it tonight when I get home, but just wanted to see if anyone has any helpful info. Thanks |
