- Is "gbpvr.exe –onlyupdateEPG" the same as Update EPG via the GB-PVR tray icon?
- Sorry about that, didn’t see your location.
- I believe it is, but there could be differences I’m not aware of.

Sorry, EPG updating doesn't work for me (automatic as well by hand)

I saw this morning (Friday) that some programs were scheduled on next thursday (0:30) and conclude that the EPG updating was working now. My interpretation however is wrong, because after 0:30 no program was scheduled. The most programs were scheduled until next Thursday. If update EPG works then the content of TV programs will be extended with one day (until next Friday).

For collecting TV programs for the next seven days I do:
Empty EPG (TV Guide is empty)
xmltv tv_grab_nl --configure (appear required)
xmltv tv_grab_nl --days 7 --output tvguide.xml
Update EPG (indeed now seven days forward)

This workaround for collecting TV programs content is to circuitous and actual not operable..

make config.bat

Code:
C:\Programmer\devnz\gbpvr\xmltv\xmltv.exe tv_grab_nl --configure  --output C:\Programmer\devnz\gbpvr\xmltv\epglistings.xml --gui
gbpvr.exe -onlyemptyEPG

if it works then remove --configure and rename config.bat to updateepg.bat

make sure that xmltv resides in C:\Programmer\devnz\gbpvr\

u wil then get a

C:\Programmer\devnz\gbpvr\xmltv\ (with xmltv.exe ect. ) C:\Programmer\devnz\gbpvr\.xmltv\ (with tv_grab_nl)
and

C:\Programmer\devnz\gbpvr\epglistings.xml with ur data

Thx for the input skipper.dk, but I am only interested now in the solution for (automatic) updating EPG in the current GB-PVR version.
(ksimmons reverted to a previous version (0.95.11) and updating EPG works perfect).

For the time being IMHO the most simple (daily) workarond is:
del or rename "your tv guide" (in my case tvguide.xml)
xmltv tv_grab_nl --days 7 --output tvguide.xml

It is working fine for me. Unfortunately I do not have the time now for extensive answer. If you have not yet gone through the threads here, do search for the word "Amontillado" here on the forum, and you will find some posts to a solution that is working in the Netherlands. There used to be some information about this on the WIKI, but that seems to have gone.

I have read some postings of Amontillado (on other forums too :-), but the most postings aren't related with the current subject, or aren't relevant because they are outdated. You know that what today is a solution could be tomorrow a problem :-)

Amontillado's tvgids_to_xml works great for me. It grabs 7 days. Afaik Tvxb does a better job in correcting errors in the epg. Lately Ned 1 and Ned 2 have errors in their times. But Tvxb only grabs 3 days and only limited descriptions. Do you have errors in the epg from tvgrab_nl?
Just put tvgids_to_xml.exe in updateepg.bat and in config point your epgsource setting to the outputted xml.
N.b. I don't know for tvgrab_nl, but for tvgids_to_xml 7days means 7 days today included. So if I update today I get the epg till (t/m) next friday.

Some data sources only provide start times. I do:
- xmltv tv_sort tvguide.xml > tvguide_sorted.xml
- rename tvguide_sorted.xml in tvguide.xml

I am familiar with Unix/Linux but unfortunately less with Windows. I am looking for the function of batch files and I fond that's comparable with shell programming in Unix. The scheduler runs every day my batch file which actually get new TV program content for the next seven days. Update EPG increments only :-) So, my perception about update EPG is apparently wrong. The documentation about that subject could be better.

I understand that the only difference between a (XP) daily scheduled batch task and UpdateEPG.bat (with the same commands) in the GB-PVR homedirectory is that Update EPG (automatic or by hand) increments the data with one day for the TV Guide.
Note: previous comment is several times edited by me..

Also 7days: "xmltv tv_grab_nl".
