Does server sound matter with MVP?

Looking into the motherboard purchase for my server and I'm wondering if the type of onboard sound matters since the media will be served to an MVP client? How does the MVP client handle sound?

Everything is fed to the MVP via the network, so onboard sound and video does not matter.
