Volume Difference Between Capture Cards

Hi All,

My system has 2 capture cards, a PowerColor Theater 550 SDTV card, and a VBox 150 ATSC HDTV card. I've noticed that there is a drastic volume difference between these two cards, in that the HDTV card is about 1.5x - 2x as loud as the SDTV card.

Has anyone experienced this, and is there a way to adjust for it in the config somehow?

I believe it has to do with the card drivers.
I dont know if there is a way to set it on those.

It might be the drivers in that case but it can also be the hardware. I have 4 identical dual tuner cards and both tuners on one card are very much lower than the other three cards. Same drivers for all four so it is not a driver issue. They are also all fed via the same cable coming out of a distribution amp so its not an input level issue. Also, yes I did try swapping inputs between cards, the problem is in the specific card.

Anyone know how to tweak the volume level of one hauppauge 500mce card without changing the other three?

When it comes to digital cards, like the original poster's VBox 150 ATSC HDTV card, the broadcaster decides how loud the audio will be when they encode into a digital stream. (you may find it is different from channel to channel)

The best you can do is to run the Hauppauge TweakTool to adjust your PVR500 to approximately the same level as those you're recording on the VBox device.

Is there something similar that will allow me to tweak the volume of the ATI Theater Pro 550?
