Ah, sorry :o and Thanks! But regsvr32 has registered it in the system32 folder, so i guess the prob must lie with it not been registered properly! Any idea on how to solve that one please?
mediafarm, if you look in your GBPVR.exe-native.log immediately after clicking live tv, you'll see a message appear in your logs like:
Quote:19:24:20.593 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(\\Media\D\TVRecord\Lovejoy_1_20061009_18552000-1-2.dvr-ms)
At that time can you check that you have a file with that exact name created in \\Media\D\TVRecord\ (check from client machin), and check it is growing.

You could try degristering it, then reregistering it. If that doesnt work, then download a different version of the Cyberlink from somewhere and try it instead.

Hmmm...File is created at 6KB, immediately jumps to 97,796KB, stays there, then client drops back to main menu and filesize drops to around 3MB. Final file contains about 15secs of video.

Thats sounds about right.
Unfortunately I'm not really sure what to suggest in your case. Its seems that directshow is failing to automatically add the DVR-MS file source when you try to watch one of these files during live tv. I'm not sure why. This usually all happens automatically.

Oh well. Maybe the gremlins will work themselves out of my machines eventually (darned gremlins, getting all over the place, leaving mucky footprints...).
Thanks for all your help. If I stumble accidentally across a solution, I'll let you know.
Think i misunderstood, bout the muxer. :o It wasn't installed properly on the server (thought you meant client lol). Anyways now it seems i can't play live tv on the server, just comes up with error playing back file. Mpeg2 decoders seem to work as i can watch a dvd! Any ideas? I'll get me logs...
SORTED!!!!! WOOOO YEAH! Now got remoet tv to the lappie too, and it works (pretty well) over the wlan!!
Thanks for all the help.
It seems as tho updating my nova-t drivers helped (most probably hwclear removing some conflict as the tv played ok in the channel scan before). Once again thanks, esp to sub (for the s/w & help). If anyone else has issues, i'll try and help.
