I seem to remember there was some option in the comskip file to make the last section as an commercial. Could this be what is happening here?

Sure, I think that is what is happening, but that does not explain why gbpvr does *not* mark the section as a commercial (in the timeline, that is), but still treats it as one (with regard to skipping it)... and I'm usually able to skip into "non-ending" commercials if I want to - but not these ones...

Below is the comskip file for one of these. It seems it marks the last section - all the way to the last frame - as being a commercial, right?

Sub,

I checked my comskip.ini file and I found the entries you were talking about, but they are set to 0:

Code:
delete_show_after_last_commercial=0    ; set to 1 if you want to delete the last block if its a show and after a commercial
delete_show_before_or_after_current=0    ; set to 1 if you want to delete the previous and the next show in the recording, this can lead to the deletion of trailers of next show

It is comskip related though as when I turned off the auto-skip, I was able to play the very end of the file. Whats weird though, the timeline OSD doesn't show the dark green color that denotes a commercial. Any other ideas?

I dont really understand the problem you guys are trying to describe. Can you post a screenshot of the OSD including time line showing the comskip breaks?

It may just be related the inexact science of converting frame numbers into times.

GB-PVR will only include a commercial skip point if the end point is less than the duration of the file. Since it has to try to convert the comskip frame numbers into a timecode by multiplying with fps, you may find that its calculating the last timecode a little too late, make it seem as though its past the duration of the file.

Ah that would explain a lot. I will see if I can find a recording that does it (the wife already deleted several that I know do it), and post a screen shot of the timeline.

Just thought of something, if GBPVR will only include the commercial skip point if the end point is less than the duration of the file (hence why it wouldn't be displayed on the OSD), would it still skip the actual video but not display it on the OSD? This is what is happening. There is no dark green bar on the timeline to denote the commercial, but as the video is played near the end, it will just stop and go back to the recordings menu as if the file was finished, but if you disable auto-skip, it will play till the actual end of the file.

Hope I didn't confuse this even more.

Yeah, I think you're right. Its not displaying the last commercial if its past the duration of the video, but still doing the skip. I'll modify the next build so that it wont do that skip, so that its consistant with what is displayed.

By the way, I told my wife about the 999 thing... all of a sudden she had a total melt down... her comment was "how on Earth can sub know that we press 999 on *our* remote?" Smile
