I have just bought the ATI 650 PRO. It is an amazing HD card (I am 12 miles from 6 HD broadcast towers) using the native software from ATI. I want it to function on my GBPVR, and although in config it shows the card, it just isn't working. Any ideas? It looks like it may be only looking at the analog side of the card, and maybe not seeing the digital tuner?
Any tip should would be Smile

I've never used the digital side of the ATI 650 Pro but should work.

You need to setup two capture sources, one for the analog side of the device (using the Direct Recording Plugin), and one for the digital side of the device (using the BDA Recording Plugin).

Hello,

Have you made 650 HDTV tuner work?
Do I need to modify BDI.ini for ATI 650 Pro and what to insert in it?

tnx
Best Regards.
Mike.

No. I'm not in a country that uses ATSC HDTV.

Maybe. I have tried to add section already for it, based on a guess at what the names probably were. These may not be correct though - if not, then you'll need to use graphedit to find the real names and update the [ATI 650 Pro (ATSC)] section of bda.ini

Thank you for the reply.

I got both analog and digital tuners work Big Grin
I just installed the last gb-pvr version and selected "direct" for analog and "BDA" for digital.

However, I can't setup Dolby Digital output right
I'm getting just 2 ch. at Live and from recording.
Looks like I'm missing something, but what and where?

My audio setup works Ok. I tested it with BeyondTV, where I'm getting DD via SPDIF at Live and from Recorded mpeg. Also any DVD I play via PowerDVD comes with DD or DTS.

Thanks for help.
Best Regards.
Mike.

This'll be some options in your soundscard/audio decoder setup. It varies from card to card and decoder to decoder.

If you use the forum search you'll find posts that have talked about this in the past.

I am new to GB-PVR and I also have a ATI 650. I was able to configure the BDA and direct for analog but when I try to watch live TV, all I get is a blank green screen. I know almost nothing about GB-PRV. The ATI Catalyst Center is very buggy. Any help would be great.

If you can zip and attach your logs, I'll take a look.

I did get it working. I had to install ATI's Catalyst Media Center. There must be some drivers for their TV card, somewhere in that mess they call software. GB-PVR seems to work much better. I'll have more time to test it in the next few days. Thanks for the offer.

Just this morning I got the analogue input working with basic cable and the digital input working with a uhf/vhf antenna for HD locals. Now I'm working on the input for my satellite set top box with the s-vid/comp conector thingy that ships with the ATI 650 Pro.
GBPVR seems to be great for all this. My only complaint so far is the ATI Remote Wonder (the original UHF remote) is poorly supported. I have tried a plugin with Girder but it seems to be tempermental ...

For ATI 650 Pro ... XP SP2 with autopatcher for updates, .NET2, DirectX9,MS Access, Windows Media Player 10, FFdshow, all kinds of Xvid, Divx, Ogg, etc... codecs.
