After I stop an AVI file from playing(from Video Library pluggin), the screen goes black and will not return to the previous menu screen. Attached are the loggs. I am using the latest build, but it happened with the version prior also. Note, it works fine through the wMVP though. ISO and mpeg files work fine as well. I even stopped the MVP server and it is still happenening. Anyone have any ideas?

After uninstalling ffdshow it no longer locks up after viewing stopping the video, but it will only play sound for the video. Anyone use ffdshow with gbpvr??

You most likely dont have a video decoder for that type of video. If its an xvid AVI, then download and install a xvid decoder and you'll be sorted.

Its not really a matter of GB-PVR supporting ffdshow - ffdshow is reknowned for having some quirks that cause problems like this. Its not just with GB-PVR. I'm not familiar enough with ffdshow to tell you what causes these specific problems, or if there are work arounds to these problems.

It is related to my codecs and NOT GBPVR as windows media player won't even play an avi now. Does anyone know of a cood tool that I can use to see what codecs are installed on my system and then remove then so I can start from scratch? Thanks in advance.

Here is a link to the MS DECCHECK tool:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en

GSpot will also tell what decoders are required to play a certain file:

You could even download K-Lite Codec Pack (I use the full version) or K-Lite Mega Codec (support almost everithing and have Cyberlink and Intervideo DVD decoder inside) from http://free-codecs.com/ Wink

I had this problem as well, with the solution being to uninstall ffdshow. However, if we do this, don't we lose the potential to do postprocessing using ffdshow?

The weird thing is, when ffdshow is installed the files will play back fine in WMP or other programs, it just does not seem to give back full control to GBPVR when finished. Any ideas sub?
