I'd set them both to the InterVideo option.

Tried that, already had the remove on boot thing. Even tried booting into safe mode command prompt, and nothing. The next option is to try plugging it into a seperate PC as a slave drive I guess or maybe recovery console...
Really annoying, cos I WANT to use gbpvr, it's the best I've seen so far!

Ok, so I haven't tried anything since last night. Now I just went into the web admin thing and hit delete... and the file deleted. Just weird, but at least it's sorted. Will try setting the intervideo settings for problem two, but am currently in remote desktop, so won't find out whether it works until I get home tonight.

ok I know that you fixed your problem but I think this needs to be said anyways. the best way to figure out why you cant delete a file is to find out what process has a handle on that file. you can do this using process explorer
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Pr...lorer.html you can search for dll's/handles just search the file name. and then you can kill that handle if it finds one (or more) that should let you delete the file. has always worked for me, process explorer is useful to have on your system anyways, since its a standalone app (no install) cheers Ted the Penguin Wrote:cheersoh god, I really just did type that:eek: and didnt think about it. I have been reading way to much of this forum. I am not from england or one of their (recently relinquished) territories.

ohowson Wrote:Nope, logged on as Administrator. I've experienced this in the distant past, but have always been able to delete under safe mode! Administrator only means you have the right to change the permission on the file, it doesn't mean you have permission to delete it. Depending on the file permissions, you could well have a folder structure that has a default permission where all the gbpvr sub folders are inheriting the parent permission but is such that you don't have the permission to delete the file. As admin, you will have the right to change the permission to make it so. If I recall, My Videos plugin or it could be Video Archiver tends to hold the folder.jpg file open such that you can delete the contents of the folder but not the folder itself because the folder won't be empty. The fact you could delete it from the web admin, which runs under the same user account as the recording service that created the file, indicates it is some permissions thing, so djtaylors comments above are probably correct.
