Yeah, sorrry - there is no built in support for the ATI Remote Wonder. Users have in the past posted a few different mechanisms for using this remote though, so do a good search of the forums and I'm sure you'll find another way to get it working.

anyone know the difference between the wonder 650 and the theater 650 pro?

BTW, I downloaded the SDK as explained at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...eCard#toc1
and installed, and I couldn't find the graphedit tool. So I'm currently downloading the Windows SDK for Vista 3.0 because I think the DirectShow that's included has the graphedit. It would be nice if I could find the entries for the Wonder 650 so I didn't have to go through the download hassle. Maybe I'm not installing it right???

Thanks, Keith

You can get the same info from filtercheck. Run filtercheck, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log it produces: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6[/quote]

here is my log. Thanks, Keith

At this point my direct setup works for analog, but I'm not getting any digital reception. I know I can with MCE. But for some reason as soon as MCE starts to display the digital program it crashes in 5 seconds.

Should it be DVB-T or ATSC for antenna feed?

When you create a capture source for the digital side of the device, and set it to use the BDA Recording Plugin, then click the settings button, then click the 'only show devices detected in this machine', does it list any detected devices?

For US/Canada versions, it'd be ATSC. For the rest of the world it'd be DVB-T.

Hi, when I check "Only show devices..." I see only the ATI 650 Pro (ATSC) and ATI 650 Pro (DVB-T). I've tried both. I don't think I'm setting my channels up right. As I said, I do get analog and I should get digital as it worked with MCE. Does it matter if the BDA or Direct is setup first? I'll try it over again from scratch.

Does the filter file show if I need to edit the ini file? I have the 650 wonder not the Pro.

Thanks for the help,
Keith

It seems to be detecting it just fine, so you shouldnt need to edit the ini file.

Create the capture source using the 'ATI 650 Pro (ATSC)' option, then hit the 'map digital channel to epg channels button'. If it gives an error, zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Greetings,

I've encountered similar problems with the ATI 650 digital (ATSC) input.
The map channels utility will scan and detect all channels, but I rarely get a picture. I will usually get audio when I choose different channels, but eventually the config utility will hang.

I finally got GBPVR working by setting the MPEG-2 software decoder to "Nero Video Decoder" and setting the renderer to "Overlay Manager". Read on for a description of behavior using other combinations...

Using the system default renderer + VMR9 I see the following errors in the log when trying to view live tv:
  • 2007-07-06 15:03:49.375 INFO pFG2->RenderEx(pOutputPin, AM_RENDEREX_RENDERTOEXISTINGRENDERERS, NULL) failed: -2147220968 (trying normal render() next)
  • 2007-07-06 15:03:49.406 INFO pGB->Render(pOutputPin) also failed: -2147220968

Then the UI stops updating (looks frozen), but the log indicates GBPVR is continuously checking for signal strength and retuning. It does this until I right-click to exit live TV or close GBPVR.

I then tried changing the video renderer to "Cyberlink.." That helped and i was able to get a picture of one channel and no audio. Changing to another channel gave me audio and black picture. Eventually GBPVR crashed.

Changing to the ATI MPEG Video decoder + VMR9 renderer gives a distorted image on some channels. (See attachment). This combination will also lead to a hang or memory related error.

  • Error: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

Using the ATI MPEG Video decoder + Overlay manager seems to work, but the image is choppy and the audio gets out of sync easily.

The Nero video decoder (+VMR9) works better, but audio is still out of sync. All channels render clearly, but eventually the renderer dies and the screen and audio stop. GBPVR is still generally responsive though and I can exit out of live tv with a right mouse click. Sometimes it will hang.

The Nero video decoder +overlay manager seems relatively stable and all channels come in.

The distorted image is a well known bug in the drivers for nvidia videocards. See http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=15184&st=0. The workarounds are to either switch to the VMR9 Custom video renderer, or disable hardware acceleration in the decoder.
