You need to restart the recording services for the change take place.
Make sure you have the correct MAC address for the downstair and post the config file here to see if someone can spot something wrong.

i did restart the recording service. after the restart i did not have any mvp icons with the other code with less reference to the tray icon. with the code in the config file i have attached i do have the mvp icons in the tray. 1 shows the upstairs and the other just displays what is playing.:confused:

I don't see anything that looks wrong in the attached config.xml file either. :confused:
Is it possible that the value in the <MAC-> entry for the downstairs unit isn't correct?

Wow, I can't believe you still visit this forum since your last post was quite sometime back. Can I have a small request added to this great plug-in? Can MVPTray Icon write a dummy file like c:\connecting.txt and remove it if nothing connect or streaming to MVP. I wants to monitor this file before taking actions like reboot computer, etc... can you play a .wav or divx file that do an on the fly transcoding from the downstair MVP? It should create a temporary file in the recording directory with the MAC address as the filename. Is the MAC address the same as the label on the MVP? Dan L.

I just played an avi file to create a temp file for the mvp. the mac address was different than what is shown on the mvp itself. i replaced the mac address with the one that the temp file noted. it still made no difference in how the icon displayed as to where the device is.

It might be worth also checking the GBPVR.exe.log files to see what MAC address is coming in from the MVP device that's not loading the name and see if it's different too.
