Has anyone set GBPVR up on a multihomed machine? I searched the forums but could not find anything. I'm currently running Win 2000 pro. This is connected to a wireless router which takes care of DHCP for me. Here's what I'd like to do:

Add a NIC to my GBPVR server, connect it to a hub and have the MVP's cponnected to the hub as well. The old NIC would still be used for internet access going through my router, as well as to connect to other PC's on my network. I'd just like to seperate the video stream traffic from the rest of my network. So the router would still be doing DHCP for my LAN NIC, but I'd have to figure out some way of doing DHCP for the MVP's. Has anyone done this or see a problem with doing it, or have any suggestions I guess?

Thanks

I'm no network expert, but... assuming you are using a switch rather than a hub, isn't MVP - GBPVR traffic effectively already separated from the rest of the network anyway?

Add to that: MPEG2 stream is only what, 6Mb/sec? So that's not really putting a noticeable dent in your 100Mbit/sec LAN either.

So unless there's something I'm missing, I really doubt that there's any real nead to multihome your GBPVR setup.

You're right and I am using a switch, I just enjoy learning about networking. My job requires me to know a lot about it but doesn't offer any training. So every once and awhile I'll start a little project using something I enjoy. Again no real need just curiosity.
