New Media MVP -- will not grab IP from router DHCP -- Help!

I bought a new Media MVP.

I Plug it into the cat5 and it will not grab an IP.

It starts up then I get an error saying it can;t get a server-- but under the top where it says computername and IP{- there is nothing there- leading me to believe it is not grabbing an IP successfully...

I am using a netgear router with DHCP ( many other devices grabbing Ips and all on same subnet etc..)

Any clue what I can do?

You could double check (usually) in your router's web page whether the MVP gets a dhcp address...

Did you start one MVP server in the gbpvr config app?

Yes a server is started...( but the MVP isn't even getting that far)
I checked my router admin- no IP is being grabbed by the MVP

any ideas?

Vonage modem was the culprit

with the vonage box parrellel or after the MVP- all works fine. If i us ethe pass through on the Vonage model ahead of teh MVP-- it will not work...
