Hi,
Can anyone advise what is generally considered to be a good Software MPEG-2 Playback Video Decoder?. I've installed GB-PVR onto a Pentium D PC that has no video codecs pre-installed and am using a Nebula-Electronics USB DVB-T receiver and as far as I'm aware there are no video codecs in the supplied software.
After a quick Google search I'd downloaded from codec-download.de Cole2k Media Codek Pack V5.54 but am not sure whether or not this is a). A legitimate download nor, b). Has installed spyware (hope it has not).
Anyway, there's now a Video Decoder in the Software MPEG-2 Playback Video Decode drop-down menu that seems to work alright (not tested thoroughly though) 'Intervideo Video Decoder'. Not 100% sure what other video and or audio codecs have been installed.
The Video Decoder that I've been using is 'Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder' however I'm not sure where this was originally installed/downloaded from. Guess that it was supplied with a Hauppauge! WinTV Nova-T-USB2 Driver Cd-Rom.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you .
