Probably worth adding that file then.

I should have explained that when I intially had the problems with the scan crashing, I wasn't getting this error message. It's a new thing that happened after a did a clean install of GB-PVR.

Anyway, I'll download this .dll and add it later.

Thanks

The problem is that when ever I try and scan for channels (thorugh the 'Map EPG...') it starts to find channels no problem but then just crashes. usually after it has found the first few transponders.

I have tried both old & new BDA drivers and I can scan channels using other software no problems.

I also get this problem with the same card. I was pretty sure that it's the BDA drivers that are at fault, as they also crash ProgDVB and DVBDream (although they work with Technotrend's own application).

My workaround is to create an .ini file with only a single frequency in it- the scan usually works without crashing (80% of the time) and finds channels. You can then change the frequency in the .ini file and scan for more channels. Very time consuming, but it usually works!

Hi Tim,

Thanks for that. I guess I'll have to scan one transponder at a time.

I have tried different versions of the BDA drivers and I use the card with other non BDA and BDA driven DVB TV applications with no problems. (Such as ProgDVB using the BDA drivers.)

I think I have must have tried 10-15 or so DVB TV apps using my TT C-1500 and a TT c-2300 premium cards. Unfortunately, GB-PVR is the first one that I have had this sort of problem with scanning. (That I didn't cause! Smile )

Maybe that's the problem... to many programs installed and unistalled! You can never be to sure what they leave hanging around!

I think I might try to do a clean system install of XP and try again.

Anyway, thanks again.

if your using xp it could be a problem with two of the xp files, there's a file here that patches the two xp files with mce files, i had the tuning crashing problem with my sat card. It has an uninstall option too (patch just redirects the registry to the mce files it installs), so no harm trying it

Thanks for the help guys, unfortunately it's still a no go.

I have tried the fixes mentioned. I have also re-installed to get rid of the missing dll error, but it still crashes.

I guess I'll have to wait until the weekend when I will have time to do a clean install of XP and take it from there.

Thanks
