Can you be a little more specific/technical? Are you looking for specific sizes, dimensions or filenames?

I'm asking because quite a few seem to be missing; for example I have entries in my listings for ER, Walker, Texas Ranger and Charmed. While epguides.com has listings under those names and images for those listings none of them are downloaded. Just about every Disney show gets an image downloaded but few current high rated shows do. Heck, "Mama's Family" gets an image, and I've never even met a living soul whose ever seen the show Smile !

I just run the program manually by double clicking it; I read earlier that you can run it in the post processing or post EPG Update bats with the "Y" argument; what exactly does the "Y" arg do? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I'd like to work with you on this because the combo of TV Listings, Jim's TV Supercharger and your Program Image tool IMHO is one of the things that sets GBPVR apart from other media centers.

I understand shows without defined eps (The Daily Show for instance) are always going to be an exception and have to be handled manually - but I find a large number of shows that should have images, don't and I'd like to see if we can fix it or improve it.

Thanks for listening!

I just look for certain file names stored under episode names.
From what i assume there are four files the image may be named as:
logo.gif, logo.jpg, cast.gif or cast.jpg.
I look for any of those names.

That is odd, i have these programs as well and my utility has downloaded the images correctly.

Passing in the Y argument from commandline allows the program to make copies of images it finds and name the copies with two extra spaces at the end (ie. 'Charmed[space][space]'). This is done so that if you are using TVGuideSupercharger and a program has a star at the end (ie, original air date) then an image will be shown for that show as well in the guide. The two spaces are required since filenames cannot have *'s in them and TVListings replaces this (and other special characters) with spaces.

If you could supply me with a list of shows you have that should have images but don't i can take a look into it. Please post these in the Program Image Tool support forum.

I'll move the discussion to that thread, and see you there - thanks for your help!

Is the TV Listings plugin supposed to work on a client? I have installed it on 3 pcs and it only works on the server, the client ones give an error on entering the guide saying that there are no channels set up. I am assuming that this is because it is looking at the database on the client instead of the server.
Also, is there any chance of making the plugin use the setting that TV Guide uses to decide the no of hours to display across the screen, I like to use 4 rather than the 2 that it defaults to.
Other than that from the quick test I've done so far it seems a big improvement on the standard TV guide, thanks for your efforts.

sorry, I never tested if it runs on a client. And I guess your assumption with the database is correct. If I get the time this weekend, I will set up a test environment and check it out.

Sub, if you're reading this:
I'm currently setting up the connection to the database this way:
Code:
DbProviderFactory dbProviderFactory = DatabaseHelperFactory.getDbProviderFactory();
DbConnection dbConnection = dbProviderFactory.CreateConnection();
dbConnection.ConnectionString = DatabaseHelperFactory.getDbConnectionString();
Will this work if called from the client?

You can adjust the timeframe that is displayed by the guide in your skin.xml file. Look at the bottom for the special element "guide", there is a setting named "guideMinutes".

Thanks for the quick response, I will have a look in the skin file and see if I can work out what to do, its the community skin, I don't know if that makes any difference.
If you can get it working on the client then that would be great, its nice to have everything consistent.

Hi,

mcfrojd Wrote:get this message. (se pic)

Using xml data from xmltv sweden

The first lines of your xmltv file are looking like this:
Code:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?>
<!DOCTYPE tv SYSTEM "xmltv.dtd">
<tv>
[...]

I think the problem is that you don't have the referenced file xmltv.dtd in the directory of the file tvdata.xml. You can either put the file into the directory (google for it), or simply delete the second line in your xmltv file.

But - you won't have any output running xmltvicons against this xmltv file, because there is not any <icon> tag inside a <programme> element to read out the icon-information.

I seem to have an issue with TV Listings and reoccurring recordings with updated padding time:

I select a show from the TV Listings for reoccurring recording and change the default padding time. The show will then appear in the Recordings under reoccurring with the updated padding time but the individual recordings will have the default padding.

Eventhough the reoccurring is showing the updated padding the individual shows are not scheduled with this value,

I hope, I could explain it so alibert can understand the problem. Doublechecking with the original TV Guide does not produce this problem. Here the reoccurring and the individual padding times are identical.

I hope, this can be solved easily...

Cheers,
Piotre

I dont know if this the following question is skin related or not but with the TV Guide plug-in I have the number of channels to display set to 5. With the default settings of the TV Listings plugin it shows 7 channels at a time. Is there a way to set number of channels in the skin.xml file? Am I blind and missed an obvious preferences option?
