Hi
I`m new to all, I can`t seem to get the channel guide to work properly, I have updated the EPG using Bleb (UK) it look`s as if it goes though each channel checking 5 days listings, but when I goto channel guide I only have listings for 3 channels, the others are blank. I would like to use XMLTV plugin, but I can seem to work out how that works.

Thanks for any advice you can give me

Welcome to the board! Big Grin

Bleb has had some issues in recent times - Can you try Birtles

You will need to Setup xml gui and setup your channels

You will then need to get gbpvr to call xmltv (to download the new listings) before updating the EPG by adding the following to your "UpdateEPG.bat" (in your devnz/gbpvr/ direcotry):

Code:
"C:\XMLTVGUI\XmltvConsole.exe"
(or wherever you installed xmltv

A while since I did this so post back if you have any problems Smile

I think XMLTV is the way to go. Try this for a start. Fire it up, select tools, then grabbers. Tick the UK_RT box and highlight the line and click channels. Should pop up another list full on the left, empty on the right. Select and move to the right any channels you want listings off. You may have to click refresh channels the first time, I can't remember.
Just point gbpvr to the data file generated and update how you like - I call it with the windows scheduler with:-
"E:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\XmltvGUI.exe" /grab /d7

In fact I call it twice - once at 02:55 in the morning and again at 02:58
The first wakes the machine up out of hibernate where the network seems to be dead and the second works and gets the listings!.

Hi,
Thanks for the replys, I`ve done as you have said and I have got more listings now, the only thing is I have got duplicate channels, eg BBC and ITV ect. Is this normal? and I have got channels with no Listings against them, Is this normal.
Is it because I tried doing the EPG using bleb and did not unselect the channels I did not want. before I tried xmltv? I have tried clearing the EPG and updating again, but no joy, Also in my channel list (In config) I have got SKY movies ect, channels I can`t get.
Do you think a re install may sort this out, cause I probably messed it up by getting a full epg list from bleb. (not really knowing what I was doing)

Thanks

Hi Pete,

If you simply delete the Capture Source, it will (should) clean the whole thing out. It will warn you that by deleting the cap. source, you will be loosing all scheduled recordings and guide info. but that's what you want.

Once done, start afresh with a new cap. source and point it straight at the xmltv file to start with then Update EPG, then map the channels.

The channels you have listed which you can't get probably came from Bleb (unless you inadvertantly added them in the XMLTV GUI program).

Cheers,
Brian

Brilliant, thanks it works a treat now.

I`ve got another question though (sorry) will the icon program work with xmltv gui? I`ve tried to follow the instructions but can`t get it to work.

Thanks for all your help, this forum and software are ace!!

You've lost me there. I'm not sure what the icon program is.

Cheers,

Hi Brain,

The Icon program (XmltvIcons) puts icons next to the TV Listings

Thanks for any advice you can give

AFAIK it doesn't generate the logo element that is required by XMLTVIcons

Hi Elite,

Do you know a simple EPG grabber that will grab the logo element too.

Thanks

Pete
