As HtV had mentioned, I'd have hoped the '-acodec copy' would have been ok with this.

Well....I found a program that will convert DVR-MS HDTV files...and it does it right. It is called Videoredo Plus. In addition, I can cut out commercials with precision before it converts. I convert them to MPEG-2 and then use meGUI to compress them to 700-1100 meg x264 files packaged into MKV files. Works great and maintains the HDTV Quality.

Hope this helps someone out there in the same situation I was in.

Can this be automated after the recording within GBPVR?

Anyone,

If you select TS Mux, can you view the recordings within GBPVR without issues?

If you have HDTV Pump installed (http://dvbportal.dyn1.de/download.php?fi...1.0.7.zip), then you should be able to playback your recordings just fine.

Ahh, I have MS Media Player 11 installed, no wonder that works.

Thanks

OK, HDTV Pump still does not work (I've been running GBPVR in Overlay). It does work in VMR7/9.

I decided to remove HDTV Pump and I still can play .TS within GBPVR without HDTV Pump.

Does HDTV Pump work for you if you switch to Overlay?

VMR9 has some stutter, VMR9 Custom has very little if any stutter (why is that?) and VMR7 has none. With my setup, I like the Overlay quality but I think I would need to calibrate for VMR9.

Anyone have .ts files playing in Overlay Mode with GBPVR?

Yes, it seems to work fine for me with Overlay renderer.

Thanks so much

brfish,

When you used the powerencoder CyberLink mux, did your sd (normal SD Digital Channel) conversions play back OK? Mine didn't, so I never even tried a hd stream recording when conversion with that older Mux version (I didn't think it would work on HD either).

When I switched to the new CyberLink Mux, SD conversions from DVR-MS to MPEG2 worked great, HD too, though it is taking way too long for the HD conversions (days).

Still looking for the better solution as I can't view .ts recordings in Overlay mode when I use the TS Mux.

"c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\third party\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe" -i c:\path\to\recording.ts -vcodec copy -acodec copy c:\path\to\recording.mpg

I'm in process of learning this digital stuff, and getting my new HVR 1600 up and running. I tried the above on a short .ts file, saw an error flash by "error, non monotone timestamps". Resulting mpg video is good, but no audio.
What, me worry?
