Help...my RCA STB requires an OK or ENTER IR code after the {channel} codes which GBPVR normally will send throught IR Blaster. I can see the channel info (e.g. 211, 312, etc,..) appear on screen but the channel won't change since no OK or ENTER code was sent by GBPVR. The STB simply timed out and remained on the same channel. How do I tech HIP or GBPVR to send this code to the IR blaster?

I have the USB-UIRT, and in GBPVR's config app (the part where you configure ir sending stuff for your capture device), there is a checkbox "send enter/ok after transmission'. What blaster do you use? Is there no such checkbox for your ir blaster config?
I'm not always right

Hauppauge's BlastCfg program will list an option to send Enter after a channel change. Hopefully that's all you need.

If the option isn't available for your STB in BlastCfg it's because Hauppauge doesn't think you need it, and you won't be able to enable it. This was the case with my STB for quite sometime... it required it but Hauppauge didn't think so, so it was a no go.

I know I had a similar problem using WinLirc and a serial ir blaster. Basically I wanted to tune to HD channels, but the channels are 4-1, 5-1 etc. All I could set for a channel number was a 'number' - no dashes. I ended up changing the winlirc config to send a dash instead of a nine and changed the channels to have a '9' in them, ie 491, 591, etc. I just happened to not have any channels of interest with a nine.

This is a cruddy workaround, but you may be able to setup something similar.

when you use your satellite remote on your STB, what happens when you type in more than 3 digits? or 4?

perhaps configuring the gbpvr hauppage settings to zeropad channels would work for you.. I am pretty sure that is how I am doing it on mine..

When GBPVR send the channel (3 digit zero padded), my RCA DirecTV box will display the new channel info for a minute or two then wait for me to send "ENTER" or "OK" IR code, without it, then STB will timeout and stay at the same channel. With my TIVO, I have the checkbox option of "Sending ENTER after channel change". If I check this box, TIVO will send channel number then ENTER code. Apparently, they have encounter this situation with alot of STB before and have included this feature in their software.

What IR Blaster are you using? Are you using HIP or one of the GB-PVR built in channel changers?

I am using Hauppauge IR beanbag (PVR-150 MCE Model 1062 running Windows XP Pro - not MCE. I had a hard time to configure it to work but I've managed to make the system to function fairly well. Yes, I am using HIP. It's the only way to make it work in Windows XP Pro. So far, this is my biggest issue.
