Please help, I would love to use this program, the description, and screen shots look GREAT, and it's not a bad Price either Big Grin

I just recently purchased a Hauppauge 350
I installed all of the software that came with the disk
I also updated the drivers to the latest versions.
The programs that came with it work.

I downloaded an installed the GBPVR as well as the required microsoft.net update.

I then tried to configure the thing, eventually going with Zap2it etc..
I also used the Tuner configuration, I had to click each time it seen a channel
then I updated the EPG. after setting it up with Zap2 it
what am I doing wrong?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Thanks for your support Sub,
I was able to get it working
at first I couldn't get the EPG to update, but finally got that,

After that I would try and launch, and it would say
"video is being played with Video Out"
Having the Hauppauge 350 I wanted to make sure It was using as little CPU and memory as possible.
I guess I learned it has to be using software decoder to display on the Monitor.

I also looked but couldn't find the minimum Hardware requirements for GBPVR
I have a T3418 Emachine AMD Sempron 3400 2.0 GHZ with currently 512mb (upgrading shortly to 1.5GB )

I love the program, and appreciate your assistance.
Here's a couple questions.
I am considering getting a Hauppauge MVP to work with this.
is the video quality Good, is it much better than the video out?

Is ATI the only card that you are able to watch in a translucent screen,
or is there a program that will make that work with other cards?

Thanks again
Pat

The PVR350 hardware decoder is hard wired to the TV out connector on the PVR350, so is only usable when you're viewing via the connector. When you run the Hauppauge software and its viewing via both the PVR350 TV out, and on the screen, its using the hardware decoder and a software decoder at the same time.

The PVR350 tv out produces a great quality picture, but I dropped support for it a couple of years ago due to driver bugs that would cause machine locks for about half the users that tried it.

The minimum requirements were a 1GHz or higher PIII class CPU plus 512mb of RAM.

It produces a pretty good picture, but some users find it a bit dark.

I dont really understand the quality. If you're talking about the semi transparent OSD over the video, then any video card compatible with VMR7 or VMR9 will give you this.

I have another video card an All in Wonder 9800 Pro with
Throughview

ThruView™
ThruView™ technology allows users to click through live TV windows to access your desktop without having to move the active window.

There's a screenshot of what it looks like on this page, just click througview
http://ati.amd.com/vortal/aiw9800pro/flash/index.html

I haven't been able to find it on any of their recent cards, so I guess it's not
available anymore, but I would love to be able to set the screen at a certain size, and set it to translucent or throughview mode, and not have to move the
screen to be able to see a work

Ah. That some feature of their software, and not a feature offered in GB-PVR. Sorry.

Dark and reddish. It affects the yellows and makes them reddish. I have been watching LCD TV prices plummet though and have been needing a TV upgrade for a long time. The current 32", which has a brighter screen, better color control, and svid will go to the bedroom which is where the MVP is. If that doesn't fix it I will live with it.
