New build - everything works except play on TV

Hi all

I've just built a new PC to run gbpvr on. It has a Hauppauge 350 and a GeForce 6200 AGP card with TV-out.

I've got everything working apart from playback. The gbpvr screen appears on my TV, and I can make recordings fine. But as soon as I try and play anything, the app freezes - its CPU usage shoots up and I have to kill it.

Bizarrely, if I RDP to the machine and run gbpvr, then the recorded program can be played on my local monitor over RDP. So I guess it's something to do with the graphics card/nVidia drivers/playback settings?

Is there some magic setting somewhere I might have missed?

No, it locks up the PC completely - even right-clicking on a file to play it causes the lock-up. Very odd!

Am just trying updating media player to latest version...

The only thing i could suggest is trying different video card drivers.
If you look in the event viewer is there any information regarding the lock ups?

take a look at the software you've installed so far. if right-clicking causes a lock-up, then it's got to be some software with an windows explorer extender/plugin that's making trouble. either that or if the only software you have installed is GBPVR, WinTV or from Microsoft, then give a reinstall of Media Player a chance to rewrite the registry settings.

Problem solved! I needed to install the Sis Motherboard AGP drivers from the CD that came with the mobo - all working fine now

That took some finding!
