I just installed the NVidia codec to solve a DVD closed caption problem I was having and now I have a video problem that seems to only happen during recording, but possibly once or twice even when not recording, I can't remember.

The video resized and occupies about 2/3 the width of the TV (mostly to the left of the screen) and the entire height. It will sometimes flicker between that and other aspect ratios. My aspect ratio is set to 16x9, same as my new LCD flat screen.

I'm so close to having this finished. Once this is fixed, all that's left is getting my audio to my entertainment system and I'll have one bad-ass PVR. I'm quite excited about it.

In the nvidia codec set the aspect to anamorphic otherwise I believe both purevideo and gbpvr try and control the aspect

It could also be the nvidia aspect ratio problem (if you've got an nvidia video card) - try disabling hardware accelleration to se if it helps.

I did both and it helped greatly. But.... there's always a 'but', when i'm watching live tv and press 'rec', a few inches on each side of the screen go black. I presume it's an issue with the recording codec but don't know how to fix it.

Thanks
