Hi

I have just connected a TV to TV-OUT on my GBPVR server - I got extended screen - windows on computer screen and GBPVR on TV.

I set "Use direct access to Hauppauge remote" as descirbed in Wiki "If you check this, then GB-PVR doesn’t need to be in the foreground. If you use IR.EXE then the remote can be shared with other applications, and GB-PVR is a little faster to start. "

And if I have chosen "cklicked" GB PVR window I can have mouse on computer screen and still have remote working.

BUT if I choose /"click" e.g. on an explorer window in computer screen - then remote stops working.

Question: is the remote suppose to work regardless of which window is active - or do I have to have GBPVR as the active window?

I am using v0.95.16 (yes it is old but working like a charm)

i'm not sure how the direct access works, but theres some good posts on configuring ir.exe to send commands to gbpvr whether it is in focus or not here:

maybe this will help you...

Sorry but this option is only applicable to the PVR250 and PVR350 cards, and needs to be unchecked for the PVR150.

Will there be any implications in GBPVR behaviour having this option checked when using PVR 150?

The remote do work even though mouse pointer is not over GBPVR-window (as long as GBPVR window is active)

I use a file that maximises GBPVR when I press the green power button on the remote. It simulates Alt+Enter & Alt+Space & Alt+X. Alt+Enter toggles between windowed & normal mode & Alt+X maximises the window

I have a similar set up and I modified my irremote.ini file in the C:windows directory such that the green power button gives the gbpvr program "focus"; that is, it becomes the active window on the computer screen and the remote works. There are various ways to do this - I suggest you search "focus remote" to see how various people have done it and choose the option that makes the most sense to you. I took the simplest way and added the following:

Open the file and find the [Default] Section. This is the area that is accessed first when you press a button on the remote. Add the following:
GRNPOWER={run(c:\progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe)}
In addition, under the GB-pvr section, you want to add another line so that the plugins or the program can use the Green Power button to do the action it would ordinarily do if you hadn't added the extra line in the default area (something I forgot to do and can't find the instruction for: I think it is something like "GRNPOWER=" which overrides the previous command such that the plugin or program's command will take precident).
I obtained this information from an earlier post which had said to use:
GRNPOWER={run(c:\Progra~1\devnz\GBPVR\GBPVR.exe)}{ sleep(750)}{FindWnd(GBPVRWndClass,)}{fgnwn d()}"

I don't know what the second half of the message "{ sleep(750)}{FindWnd(GBPVRWndClass,)}{fgnwn d()}" is supposed to do and didn't include it in my set up. If anyone knows, please let me know so I can add it to my set up secure in the knowledge of what it will do.

On the other hand, if you want the ability to work on the computer and use the remote control at the same time (without duelling for control which works well in my house), see this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...remote.ini or http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ight=focus

And thanks to Ted the Penquin for the clarification of the part of the instruction I didn't use in my fix.

not really sure, but my guess is that it activates the last window found. with the find window function that is used before it.. I think, its a weird command, and hard to find (in a 30 second search)

The setting is ignored if you have the Hauppauge IR app running. If you dont have this running, and have a PVR150, then you'll get unpredictable results. Best case - nothing will happen, worst case - it'll crash.
