tipstir,
I'm running Windows 2000 with latest SP, with DirectX 9c. No AV software on the machine. Are you indicating that DirectX 9c could be an issue and that going to 9b may work?
Hasso.
Regards,
Hasso

Thanks... I'll try going to DirectX 9b. Since the drive is freshly formatted and I've just started using it, I don't think that MFT could be an issue as yet, or am I wrong?
Regards,
Hasso

I'm using PVR-250.
I have now defragmented my HD (This took several days and about five runs with the built in defrag in WinXP!!!!Wink and played around with changing codecs, and the situation has improved radically. Don't know which version of DirectX I have though...

I did this as erikl suggested, and now no more sync issues.

I have found that with the number of recordings that I do, and then delete, the best program for me to keep sound and video in synch is PerfectDisk. Sorta like disk keeper but actually makes sure that all the free space is at the end of the drive, and it also organizes the files by how often they are accessed. Stuff that gets access most often and can become fragmented easily is put near the end, and everything else is put near the beginning.

I used Diskkeeper lite also, but prefer PerfectDisk.

I should have been more specific. It wasn't in WinTV2000. I downloaded the tool from shspvr.com.
It seems to work, although when I do a fast forward or rewind, it does sometimes take a few seconds to sync up again. Maybe defrag would also help as suggested by others. Anyway, nothing ventured...

Hasso

Well, I spoke too soon. My wife, being the perfectionist she is, has pointed out that there are still sound syncronisation issues. And yes, of course she is right.

Lips move, but sound lags those few milliseconds. Now before this was pointed out to me, I was happy. Now of course I am not.

Hasso

SBE was removed several releases ago, so just ignore it.
