Hi,

I'm getting (very) frequent program crashes during playback. At first I thought it was just happening during recording (of another show or the same show as we caught up) but it seems to happen all the time at random. It doesn't cause the recording service to die, thank goodness, but in a one hour show we probably have to restart GBPVR ~3 times. Any ideas what's wrong? I'm attaching the config.xml and the logs subdir. Thx!

What time did the crash occur so I know where exactly to look in the logs?

I did see one error in your logs:
Quote:14:13:03.125 VERBOSE DirectShowPlayerVMR9()...VMR9 not supported
So its probably worth staying away from the VMR renderers. Try Overlay instead.

Also worth trying different combinations of audio/video decoder to see if your problem goes away.

The last time it happened was the last entry in GBPVR.exe.log. I am changing to overlay manager and next I will try different MPEG2 playback decoders (no hw decoder since I have a PVR-150). Thx for your help!

Unfortunately it's that stupid windows errorw where they ask if you want to report it or not. I've tried different decoders (video and audio) and overlay vs vmr and none of that seems to help. I've got a crash up right now and I'll come back and post exactly what it says after I write it down.
Thx!!

GB-PVT has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem.
We have created an error report that you can send to us to help improve GB-PVR. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.

I can't seem to copy the error report to the clipboard though. Interestingly the sound always continues when the crashes happen. This lsat time I was watching live TV when it happened. Attaching latest config and log. It crashed at 9:33. Last night I think it crashed while watching a DVD... which would lend credit to the decoder problem. But I just started using Nero's decoder to try to get away from Intervideo and CyberLink... Weird.
Thx!!

Is there an entry listed in the Windows Event Viewer at the time of the crash?

Does switching to Overlay instead of VMR9 help?
