I'm having more than one problem but for the sake of simplicity I will list them chronologically:

1) No Mouse usage with Overlay... If I use other video settings VM7, VM9, etc. It will crash the system in less than 5 minutes of watching. Sometimes longer sometimes shorter.

2) Sometimes the recorder will not shut off. For example, I will record two shows back to back (I thought this might be the problem but it's not), and the second recording will go on for hours beyond its scheduled shut off. Same thing happens occasionally with single recordings as well, hence why I know it's not the two together.

3) Some channels don't have any picture, but this problem isn't happening to all. I checked Hauppauge's player and it doesn't have the same problem. I don't understand why.

4) I have one channel that comes in very dark. I don't know why. I literally have to adjust my monitor's brightness levels to watch it comfortably, but the others come in great. I'm not understanding that one either.

Here are my logs if anyone can help, please pm me. I just got involved with this kind of stuff, so I'm still learning a lot. I just included all the logs.
ASUS A8V Deluxe MB | AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1 Gb Ram | 320 GB & 500 GB SATA II HDs
Sapphire X 1650 Pro | Hauppauge HVR-1600

I'm gonna need you to repeat each of these issues, and post a set of logs for each (with comment which is which), otherwise I wont know where to look in the logs - unless you happen to know what time each issue occured in that one set of logs you posted?

The lack of mouse control with Overlay renderer was fixed with the patch from here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6

4) O.k. The channel that has no video, but Hauppauage seeing as having video is my channel 10.1. I don't know if that's the information that you need or not. It's been that way since I updated to the new version.

3) Channel 44.1 is the one that is coming in unusually dark. Again, I don't really understand why I am having that problem. Plus, I didn't know if it would be possible to adjust the colors of just one channel. That way I wouldn't have to adjust the monitor settings.

2) The recordings where I have had the continual recording happen was Thursday and Friday night of this last week. The 10:00-11:00pm recording kept going and going. I quit both of these after 15 minutes or so. The third example that I can remember I will have to get you the specific time later. It was Saturday I believe. I was recording a movie, Cider House Rules. As soon as I get home, I will respond with the actual times.

Thanks sub for all your help. You have been so patient and it is greatly appreciated.

-Anthony

Your logs dont go back that far, so you'll need to reproduce the problem and post a new set of logs.

You may find your colours are better if you use the Overlay renderer instead of VMR. This is probably what the Hauppauge app is using.

I'm actually using overlay, b/c it's the only one that would run without crashing. I found the update for the memory crashing problem, so maybe I'll go back to trying vm9 to see that fixes the problem.

Also that other recording was on Saturday 3/3 from 9-11:00. Is there a reason why my logs are not going back that far? I haven't been editing them, but I have had to restart the recording several times.

Another factor I forgot to mention was that I had to restart the recorder to force it to stop recording. If I tried to watch live tv it said it was rejected by the device. Ultimately, the resulting dvr-ms is not playable without converting it to another format. I don't know if any of that helps.

I'm happy to look at your VMR9 problem if you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs.

When you restart the software, the logs are overwritten.

I cant tell you anything without the logs.

When you post the logs, make sure you mention which of your problems it shows.
