Logs1 and Logs2 both contain random errors which occured while using the program. Logs1 was when I tried to start gbpvr. Logs2 occured when I tried to pause Live Tv with the new fix you supplied with the mouse not working. The mouse did indeed work for pausing, it initialized and everything, but it crashed.

The last one is obviously titled the VM9 crash. I switched to VM9 full-screen exclusive and it crashed after less than a minute of playing. Likewise, it had a weird bar at the top... unfortunately, the alt+printscreen I took of it was flushed after the crash. Anything other information I can supply just let me know.

I still cannot view the video for channel 10.1, but the audio is coming through clearly. I am unsure why is occuring. The channel is matched correctly, and it should be showing.

The first thing I'd try is a different audio and video decoder.
Quote:2007-03-05 20:24:27.093 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:

2007-03-05 20:24:27.093 VERBOSE - Microsoft ATSC Network Provider
These are the first logs I've ever looked at that have listed the "HCW MPEG-2 Video Decoder" and "HCW AC3 Audio Decoder", so they're unknown quantity. I've also never used them myself.

Hauppauge have been known in the past to use some filters that dont play nicely with third party apps (like they Hauppauge MPEG Mux etc).

As I said above, try a different audio and video decoder.

I tried the intervideo decoder. The saved programs play perfectly, but the live tv is horrible. It skips every other second. I tried all of the settings VMR7, VMR9, etc. I toggled Minimal OSD in all of them and still no difference. What else should I try? The good news is that it didn't crash, and that it let me see the video on 10.1. Do you think I should reinstall the drivers for the capture card. I know those are the most up-to-date, but I tried opening winTV2000 today and it crashed too.

try the MPV Decoder from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

Also, make sure you're not using the VMR9 Custom or VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive renderers on a second monitor. These rely on hardware 3D acelleration, which is usually not offered on the non-primary monitor, resulting in crappy performance.

If you're view HDTV channels, then you may find your Nvidia FX5200 isnt able to keep up. It most likely fare slightly better with the Overlay renderer.

I tried the MVP decoder and it doesn't show any video. I wait for a while and it simply says that there is no feed and for me to check the antenna. I uninstall the decoder and I have video again. I am trying to gather up some of my birthday money to buy a new video card so maybe that will fix the problem.

I had a FX5200, now have a Geforce 6200 (128M, 64bit) and am very happy with the picture, which is noticeably better than my FX5200. Having said that I think your card is OK for analog FTA TV, perhaps you should try the Nvidia or Cyberlink Codecs first?

:o Nope, I must admit I haven't. We don't really have HDTV boradcasts here yet (at least not FTA and I don't think so for the Channels that come via DSL either, it's an MPG2 feed).

I've been meaning to ask you about that though, we're finally getting Digital here in HK, and the Gov't said if the Mainland hadn't made their mind up by end of 2006, they would go with DVB-T from Europe. However the Mainland has decided to go for something called DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) developed by "Beijing Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University". Perhaps so they don't need to licence DVB-T or have folks buy existing DVB-T products or maybe it really will be better .... Have you heard anything about this magic standard? ... not that they all have HDTV TV's in China although they produce a lot of them for Samsung, Hitachi etc etc etc...

k.

[EDIT]Apparently PCCW here are supposed to be putting out HDTV via DSL, but my decoder is not one of the new ones ... probably waiting for the new DTT standard too ... testing until July 2007 :-(
