alibert Wrote:Hi,

from what I've seen in the logs, it seems that the skin directory structure is somehow not okay in your setup, as the skin helper isn't able to locate the skin file in the "Community" subdirectory:

Code:
2007-03-12 12:56:52.109    VERBOSE    [1]    Skin file not found: .\skin\Community\TV Listings\skin.xml
2007-03-12 12:56:52.109    VERBOSE    [1]    ...about to check default skin
2007-03-12 12:56:52.140    VERBOSE    [1]    Initializing skin helper for: .\skin\blue\TV Listings\skin.xml
2007-03-12 12:56:52.218    VERBOSE    [1]    videoInsetVisible = false
2007-03-12 12:56:52.218    VERBOSE    [1]    Skinhelper loading image from file: .\skin\Community\TV Listings\..\background.jpg

So, please try to correct this first.

But even if you would be using the skin.xml file you attached above, you won't be able to see the channel numbers and/or logos, as the skin file hasn't been adopted to v0.9 of the plugin yet. Again:

The red 'X's in the left area result in missing composite images:

If I have some time in the next days, I will create a valid skin.xml file for the community skin, as many of you seem to be using it.

But then why would I have the same problem with the stock Blue skin?

Hi,

I will have to have a look at your gbpvr\skin\blue\tv listings\skin.xml to tell you why.

Hi,

the skin file you've attached is dated 2006-12-11, so it doesn't work with the latest release of the tv listings plugin that was released 2007–02–16. Please use the skin file that is included in the .zip-archive downloadable at the wiki page of the plugin.
If you want to see a column with channel numbers, you can also download the skin.xml file that I'v attached in this post and use this instead.

And as I am reading this I know why...after doing exactly what you are recommending, I updated Community Skin which was said to support TV Listings, but obviously not the most current version - which overwrote the skin.xml *I* put in from the wiki.

Then a shiort time later, I updated to the latest GB-PVR version, which more than likely overwrote the Blue skin.xml.

This is why it appeared to work "on and off" as I was stating; it worked fine before I applied the Community Skin update, then it stopped (overwritten) but Blue worked fine (until I updated GB-PVR and *IT* got overwritten!).

Thanks for sorting this out wiht me alibert; I'm deep into a CMS project and I think I'm losing a bit of brain cells in the process! As soon as you laid this out I realized instantly what had been done and I feel a bit sheepish about wasting your time. :o

Can you tell me what changes would I have to make to get this to work with Community Skin which is my primary skin? Rather than making you do my work, if you can just tell me what needs to be changed I'll do it and upload the version here or give it to Fatman_do.

I've already made the changes to the community skin and gave them to Fatman_do, he's going to update the community skin package soon. I don't know if he will do some more changes on the skin, but you can download the files I sent to him if you can't wait here:

http://www.netcologne.de/~nc-luederkn3/c...stings.xml

and

http://www.netcologne.de/~nc-luederkn3/c...umbers.xml

The second one will display the channelnumber column that you've requested.

Found a "bug" yesterday. If you invoke TV Listings, select a channel with OK so it switches to Live TV for that channel, watch it for maybe an hour, then hit Home to go back to TV Listings, the tv guide will still be selected at the time you started watching Live TV, instead of always selecting the show on the channel at the current time.

I think that's something that I can't change from within the plugin, sorry. But you can always press the 'Home' button to jump quickly to the current time.

Too many listings?

I have only four channels installed - that's not the problem! The problem is that the listings repeat and kind-of scroll round so that there's always seven rows of listings, when really, I only need four. Can this be fixed, please?

Thanks.
