I muted with my keyboard instead, and all buttons are ignored until I unmute. If you say it's not a GB-PVR problem because you don't have that problem when muted, then it must be HIP causing the problem. I can't imagine how it causes a problem, though. Any theories? How about other tools to use, e.g. Event Ghost?

I cant think of any reason why you'd see this. Sounds pretty bizzare to me.

I seem to remember most people that use HIP install some alternative MCE remote driver, maybe this is something to do with it? I've never install HIP or this other driver.

I installed the alternate driver. Did everything in the HIP instructions. Is it possible a plugin is causing the problem, like Volume OSD? I'd think not because others should see the problem too.

Maybe it's time I do a reinstall of GB-PVR, since I also have a problem with playing a recording that is still being recorded, or switching to live tv to watch a show that is being recorded. I hate to do that, and would rather solve the problem instead of sweeping it under the rug. Wouldn't it be a pain to setup GB-PVR again to match all of my current tuners, channels, plugins, skins, etc?

I dont think reinstalling GB-PVR is going to help with this, but give it a go if you want.

I don't think it will either, since this problem has existed since I first installed GB-PVR, or at least as far as I can recall. I guess I can try Event Ghost to see if it has the same problem. Get just the Mute button programmed and channel up/down and see what happens.

I understand GB-PVR doesn't have support for Mute yet per another thread, is this the case? Do you plan on supporting it with a keystroke, say Ctrl-M (which right now is Mini-Guide, looks to be the same as Ctrl-G).

It is on my to do list, and will probably be ctrl-m. I'm not sure if it'll be in the next release or not though.

See this thread for the latest findings. Is it possible to have GB-PVR log keystrokes it receives and how it processes them?
