I have an Avermedia where the coax connector came off (cheapo card - it wasn't even soldered). I remember looking at my 150 to see how it was done, and it was soldered right where it connects to the "can". I ended up doing a (ugly) solder job on the Avermedia card (connector to the can) and it works fine.
Funny thing is that since it's a software card, it's sitting in my desk drawer right now.

I've looked closely and I would need to replace the center wire as it was broken short as well.

So this idea of using a vcr, why ? I mean it was stated I'd need a tuner but doesn't the pvr150 have a tuner ? (tongue in cheek). Can you explain a little more in detail how I would set this up ? Connect the in-tv coax to the vcr, S-Video from vcr to pvr150 and set the vcr channel to anything ? do I even have to turn it on ?

You have it just about right. Coax to VCR, Svideo to PVR150, Press the Tape button or whatever puts the VCR tuner output out to svideo, change the channel to whatever channel you want to use, capture the video using svideo input on pvr150. Think of the VCR as a settop box. Use the PVR-150 blaster to change the VCR channel. The VCR would need to be on. You need to use the VCR's tuner.

hmmmmmmm ok I sort understand that people use the blaster to control stb's and such but I am curious how much trouble it will be. Will I be changing the channel on the vcr alot for this ?

Also I am using the MS MCE Remote now.

The VCR will replace the tuner in the PVR150 with the broken one. So anytime you want to change the channel on that tuner, the blaster would need to change the channel. It would be cleaner to fix the card, but if that isn't feasible, then the VCR could at least allow you to use your broken card. The blaster would need to be connected on one of your pvr-150s and placed correctly on the vcr. The PVR150 blaster is very finicky about placement since it uses a visible LED, and not an infared one, so the output is very low in the infared band. Some people have swapped the led out for an infared one and got much better performance. The MCE remote shouldn't matter.

No problem. It's not that bad to get the blaster working, and if you decide you need that third tuner give it a shot. If you feel like posting a closeup of the broken connector on your board, I'm sure people here can give you an idea how hard is would be to fix.

My problem I've test the DCT box on the PVR-150 channels 2 to 100 works perfect. As soon as I go to 200 HBO it clips to black then back to the picture. Doesn't do this on the TV. I wonder if I use a VCR then go to the PVR would that improve things hmmm..

I thought analog cable stopped at 125 channels. There is no 200 that I know of. Are you hooked up to a digital box?
