Hauppage PVR150 remote as keyboard?

When searching the guide I usually just do this by letter, but I wondered if I could somehow send keyboard input from the remote and make it act like a keyboard?

This would also be helpful for the YouTube plug-in where I can only search with specific strings.

you can enable text from the numeric portion of the remote similar to cellphone text. It's in config, probably under misc.

I don't use the MCE remote and mine (PVR150) worked as soon as I enabled it in config. I would have thought as long as your remote will send numbers, sub could interpret that as cellphone like text if it was enabled. Hopefully sub will weigh in with an answer.

When this setting is enabled in GB-PVR, its only applied to a couple of specific places in the app - manual recording filename prefix and search guide text search. Everywhere else is just treated as numbers.

Cool... its been a while since I tried it, so I'll give it a whirl again and see how it goes.
