Does anyone know how to get around this problem? I did a quick search of the forum with no success.

I use a notebook as a client, but when I am not connected to the network, it obvisously cannot find the server. The GBPVR startup process hangs when trying to find the server.

Of course, one way around this is the make the notebook standalone again via config, but that's not elegant. Is there a better solution, or is this one to add to the wish list?

I guess it can only run/load the database (program-info etc) when the gbpvr-server is running. You might want to add it to the wishlist, but I think it might be a tough problem running it without the database on the server available.

Maybe a command line parameter could be part of a future release to force running as a stand alone? Either that or as an error trapping mechanism.

Sorry, there is no work around for this. It needs the server to be able to start. I'll try to remove this dependency in a future release.
