Yes, I changed it to enable Hardward Decoding, and also the deinterlacing method. Darn... I was hoping gbpvr would pick that up. I know it is using the right filters, but I guess it is not using the right settings for the decoder. I don't suppose there is anyway around this?
Some decoders automatically remember and reuse the settings if you modify them, ie settings would flow through to GB-PVR once set in graphedit, but this depends on the decoder. I'm not sure whether the MainConcept decoders do this or not. If not, then there is no way I can apply these settings on the decoder without MainConcept supplying their developers SDK - which they only give to companies which license their products ($$$$).

If you go back into graphedit and view the decoder settings and your changes are present, then chances are this decoder does these sticky settings.

Quote:Here's the log entry:
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE - MainConcept MPEG-2 Video Decoder
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE - AC3Filter
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE - GB-PVR Flow Status
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE - MainConcept MPEG Demultiplexer
2007-05-23 07:45:08.500 VERBOSE - D:\TV\Two and a Half Men\Two and a Half Men_20070521_19001930.mpg
I can really comment too much on that. At least now you know exactly what is being used to do the playback for when you're experimenting in graphedit.

Well, I can confirm that although the MainConcept MPEG-2 Decoder remembers it's settings in GraphEdit, I can't get those same settings to work in other players (like zoomplayer). Not sure what the deal is, so I guess I'll give up on that one.

The good news is after some experimentation, I find that the ATI MPEG Decoder works great in overlay manager mode. The only problem with this is when I want to FF/RW or change volume, the OSD pops up and I can't see the video until the OSD goes away. Is that how it is supposed to work?

Thanks for all your responses.... I'm learning alot!

Its normal that the OSD would come up in these situations, but normally most of the screen is transparent. A small number of people have reported seeing black where it should transparent. Its not common, and I've never seen it myself, so it isnt something I've really look into. GB-PVR asks the graph for its "transparent color key" and something is returning the incorrect value. Its most likely coming from either the video card driver or maybe the decoder? I'm not really sure.
