Run a dll as an app has encountered a problem

This morning windows is saying that my C partition only has 170Mb left.

In My Computer it says that its 9.75GB full on a 10 GB partition. When I select all the files & folders & right click, properties, the total size for all files & folders is 4.5GB.

Next I right clicked My Computer opened System Properties. When I click on the System Restore tab I get the following error -
'Run a dll as an app has encountered a problem and needs to close'

When I close this box another opens -
'Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close.'

I've tried an error check & repair but no difference.

Anyone got any idea's what could be wrong?

BTW. This is running XP Pro SP2

Empty out recycle bin & Delete temp files - are these hidden? I think they are on a default install, hence not included when selecting all files and dirs on c drive

Can you run disk clean up?

All files are shown including system files & all extension are shown.

pagefile.sys is 1.5GB, windows folder is 1.85GB, Program Files Folder is 1.08GB. The other folders & files add up to 153MB. Thats a total of 4.5GB.

Right clicking on C: says that is 9.7GB. Defrag doesn't like it because theres only 10% freee space. Can't access System Restore because 'Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem'

I'm thinking its a hd/filesystem problem..

You might try chkdsk, this took will try to correct any disk volume problems.
