Well it turns out mine was definitely a windows firewall error. Make sure you check your firewall, dude. I had to reset it, put it on the "ask every time" option.

Are you sure it was your firewall? I just turned my off and am still getting exactly the same error.
Which error are you getting exactly? I see you've replyed to two EPG threads commenting you get this exact same error, but both are quite different issues. One related to getting some garbage data back from zap2it and GB-PVR not being able to process it, the other related to not being able to connect to zap2it.

Sorry Sub, I posted after a long night of troubleshooting and trying to read the forum posts on my tv. Obviously I wasn't reading them as closely as I should have.
For what's it's worth my problem was with the garbage data, not the conection issue.
I tired it one last time this morning and after suddenly after three days of trying I didn't get an error message and the guide data downloaded properly. Go figure! So to anyone else who's having this problem, I reiterate the advice... just keep trying, it seems to be a problem with Zap2It.

I have encountered that error several times and it was always something to do with either my internet connection or the username and passwords that I was entering in the configuration.
